Best Fan Controller Available

Hi,

was wondering if anyone could help me out. I've recently purchased an Airforce Tornado AF100 acoustic fan which I planned to use with a fan controller which I also purchased. The problem is that when I use the fan with the controller and slow the fan down I get a humming sound from the fan itself, a sort of mains hum. When the fan speed is increased the humming dissapears. The fan controller is just a budget dimmer type controller, could this be the problem?

Would this better quality fan controller eliminate the fan hum problem which I currently have. Also any advice on the best fan controllers available would be appreciated.

they all hum. try stuffing your system with a t shirt to increase motor work and thus slow fan speed.

Back to your question... I think tha controler you have linked will do the same thing your dimmer is doing, just cost you alot more money. Maybe try to insulate your fan so it doesnt vibrate soo much. Ive sen other guys hang them with bunggie cords ot help keep them quiet.
