Trying to find the best grommet for tight seals on buckets. Tried several already and not liking them. Thanks

1/2" isn't something I like for any sorta return or waste drain. Plugs up too easily.

3/4" can work if roots aren't involved lol. If you got a RDWC going them you want 2 or 3 inch PVC and bulk heads or if you are feeling lucky uniseals lol.

Generally bigger is always better, to a point anyways. We don't need a 6 inch pipe going into a 5 gallon bucket lol.

Currently have a 5 gallon bucket, has 1/2” lines to reservoir. Planning the upgrade for the next grow.

Well I would highly recommend the 1 inch with your 5 gallon RDWC buckets.

If you change to a flat sided container for your sites then you can go with the larger bulkheads and PVC.

Depending on how big your plants/roots are you may not have a problem with 1 inch or maybe even 3/4. Bigger plants are gonna need bigger returns to prevent plugs on a RDWC. Nothing beats a 3 inch with bulkheads and a large capacity tote for a site and reservoir if you are growing trees in RDWC.
