Best growing technique for 3 X 3 LED tent?

I am crying into my beer for you :-) Try lugging 5 gallons of liquid nutrient around.
Break your nute line up into smaller bottles and invest in some glass pipets. I never spill a drop.

OP- I'd keep it simple and use a simple dwc. Four, black, 3.5 gallon buckets; four black lids; one 18watt air pump; Four air stones; 4 netcups with neoprene inserts; Scrog with 2 weeks veg. Use the nutrient line of your choice, though a modified lucas formula with Si to balance the pH seems to work well. Top off each bucket with RO or distilled water twice a week, then swap out each one with a sterilized bucket of fresh solution once a week. pH should remain fairly stable with just the right drift until the end of the week.

Probably not the 'best' or 'optimal' but it's simple, cheap, and effective.

1 foot per 1 gallon of soil is nonsense iv had 3foot plants in 1gallons no broblem ...it strain dependant..just my thought...scarecrow77
lol, nonsense... i said it was a rule of thumb, not automatic. the amount of medium you use, directly effects the size a plant can get. there are things you can do to increase growth, or limit it. also, a certain amount of medium is needed to hold onto water/feed. and no, there are no 80' pot plants, that i know of. certain strains are larger than others, but they all have limits...

Hi everyone, I'd like to buy a grow tent for my first ever attempt size 80x80x180cm but wondering if a slighty bigger 100x100x200cm would make a noticeable difference & well worth the extra space? Planning to use LED in case that helps. Thanks

I am having to stake the plants because the buds are getting heavy and the branches are starting to droop! And the smell of the plant is changing from a wet diaper/boiled cauliflower smell and into a sweet overripe mango/pineapple/boiled cauliflower smell! :) I think it's a good sign! Plus the plant is drinking more water than usual! I'm not sure if it's going to make it to the 8-9 week harvest mark…but, then every first-time grower says that….right? I ordered a magnifier with a light in it to check the trichs. It's just starting to cake up and the calyxes are fat. I can't wait, man.

Well, I wish I had more than 40 X 40 X 78 now! But I would at least say that if you are going to be doing any cloning, then plan on having two, separate tents…one on a vegging schedule (I run mine at 18/6) and one for flowering on a 12/12 schedule. I'm having to shuffle my clones in with some of my garden vegetable starts and it's…just not an ideal situation….So, yeah….If you clone and your using tents, then you'll need two -or at least two, separate spaces. I'll be adding my second tent in a few months.

Firstly - Size DOES MATTER. I grow one plant at a time in a 60cmx60cm cupboard. I could still grow one plant well in 50cmx50cm. This IMHO means that if you had a 100x100 tent you could grow 4 plants at the same time as each would have 50cmx50cm and I am fairly sure it would just about work and give you enough space for a high output grow from each plant.
If you use the 80cm x 80cm and try to grow 4 plants this will give ony 40cmx40cm each. This is pushing it. Don't listen to the siren voices that will tell you that they grew 15oz plants in one square foot!! and all that crap. They are just blowing smoke up your arse. The extra 20cm would make a lot of difference (as the Art Mistress said to the Bishop). Of course it matters what strain you grow. With this size of tent growing 4 plants you are on small to medium size strain. Have a look at Sharkbite. It does well under these conditions and gives me 4oz per plant per grow.
A modern LED panel is a good choice for a small grow. It will not give you heat problems and the modern ones give out a lot of light with a good spectrum. Do not be tempted by an older model bought cheap and second-hand off E Bay. Many of the old LED panels were not very good. Best of luck and enjoy your grow :-)

If Thunderbum say's 'go' with the extra 20cm then who am I to dispute that? thunderbum does after all have a nice bum  Thanks for the earlier advice TS, but not planning to work with clones, just wanna keep growing from seed.

I like the sound of 4 high output plants, might try mainlining. Will have a look at the sharkbite but was considering the c99 (female seeds)...would love to grow a sativa cause im pretty sure ive never tried a proper one before & this strain seems to be made for indoor (low odor, medium, good yield, fairly easy, fast finisher).

C99 looks good if you want a head high. I prefer an indica dominent for body relaxation and medical actions. The C99 should do ok with the set-up we have been talking about unless the grower/seller of the seeds is fibbing about the compactness of the C99 plants. It may shock you to know that claims by seed sellers are not always accurate!!! Best of luck and let us know how you get on.
