I don't like Mars Hydro, it is so bad.
I dont care WHO agrees with me... Anyone who disagrees & says that Blackdog & Kind LEDs are NOT badass lights, are either uninformed fools, speaking on something they know nothing of, or they have an agenda, an ulterior motive. Blackdog & Kind are ROUTINELY hailed as the best/among the best, LED lights in the world. Educate yourselves before you start hardening your opinions. Timber IS overpriced, JUST LIKE KIND AND BLACKDOG!!! Thats why I am a supporter or HLG's Quantum boards & Rapidled's COB lighting... they will hold your hand & help u put together a custom light to exactly meet tour needs, & they do it at a better price than everyone else. I will admit i can find better prices on meanwell drivers than rapidled, but so what? Then just buy the driver elsewhere. & to those who have worries about assembling their own - u can have it built FOR YOU, for a mere $25 more. I am disabled & retired. I live on a pathetic $750/month, with my girl who makes the same. TRUST ME... I have researched & studied & then researched some more. I have talked directly to company after company, read review after review, from articles out of multiple different sources. Because I HAD to... If money is no issue to you - awesome! Overpay to your heart's content! But my post is meant for those in MY sutuation, who need the absolute MOST bang for their buck.Even though i am new, i have a hard time agreeing with this post. i have just replaced 2 bd and one kind with three timber 400 w vero29 3500k. Never felt that bd was intense enough for its 400w signature.
I don't think Timber is that over priced. I like HLG but I heard they raised prices a bit. Kind and Black Dog are probably small companies. HLG, Timber Rapid and Cob Kits are probably one or two people companies.I dont care WHO agrees with me... Why do you continue to argue that Timber is overpriced when their 600w Vero 29 pre-assembled fixture is cheaper than the RapidLed 600w Vero 29 fixture that doesn't come fully assembled?I dont care WHO agrees with me... Who hails Black Dog and Kind as the best lights? I've only seen those claims on their websites or magazines like High Times who BD and Kind PAY to have that stuff written. There's nothing that stops each company from claiming theirs is the greatest and how everything else sucks.I dont care WHO agrees with me... Your comparing two different fixtures here, the timber one comes with 6 cobs versus the Rapidled one which comes with 12, they have different driver setups so both lights are 600w, not quite apples to apples comparison. Why do you continue to argue that Timber is overpriced when their 600w Vero 29 pre-assembled fixture is cheaper than the RapidLed 600w Vero 29 fixture that doesn't come fully assembled?
You're just rambling a bunch of nonsense.
Mic drop...Your comparing two different fixtures here, the timber one comes with 6 cobs versus the Rapidled one which comes with 12, they have different driver setups so both lights are 600w, not quite apples to apples comparison.
If you were to build an Identical kit on RapidLED of the timber 300w kit you would see prices of 399.99 of timber vs. 274.40 on RapidLED for the exact same parts, Plus Rapid LED gives 10% off your first order, so 400 vs 250 is a pretty big price difference.
*This does not include the canopy rails on either system, I picked ones of timbers kits not their framework for easier comparison.*
Im talking about among their class of lights - yes they are consistently rated at the top. But theyre ridiculously expensive. Search for 3 mins - theres plenty of ppl pulling huge yields with them... if you dont mind paying $1500-$2000Who hails Black Dog and Kind as the best lights? I've only seen those claims on their websites or magazines like High Times who BD and Kind PAY to have that stuff written. And then if you look you see they're still completely different. Mic drop...Mic drop...
Your missing the point "this rated at the top your speaking of" is made up. That is the point, there is no scientific proof behind those top products lists. They are put together by the magazines or light makers to sell you their light.Im talking about among their class of lights - yes they are consistently rated at the top. Care to elaborate? whats completely different about comparing the same products? And then if you look you see they're still completely different. Mic drop...
Not sure why this is really that confusing to people.
If you are looking for the most bang for your buck stop looking at LEDs, they are the most overpriced per photon of any lighting source besides plasma. They also don't have a great spectrum for growing cannabis unless you are willing to have several supplemental lights.I dont care WHO agrees with me... Because YOU chose to compare different products. Both are passive, but again completely different setups that somehow confuses you.Care to elaborate? whats completely different about comparing the same products?
I did a comparison between the two sites, and one came out quite a bit cheaper than the other. Of course a heatsink that is active cooled will be different that is passively cooled, why are you bringing this up? I see more people gearing towards passive because of less noise and electricity. Price is on par with a cpu heatsink.
Your comment about DIY is not entirely accurate. One factor you are overlooking is convenience. There's not a lot of one stop shops that will have everything you need so convenience plays a factor I think.
Look at Digikey, and mousser, and Alibaba and so on, lots of those places either don't have stuff in stock, need MOQ, or have to make several orders at mulitple places to get everything you need. Paying 1 shipping price can be cheaper than several.
I'm only confused by what your trying to say. I didn't compare different ptoducts.Because YOU chose to compare different products. Both are passive, but again completely different setups that somehow confuses you.
And yes I did bring up the obvious true diy if people want. But all the "experts" keep trying to compare apples to ornages and still lose based on basic math.
I think your confused, Rapid Led uses 140mm pin heatsinks or a heatsink sheet. You can ask them to substitute it.Look up the pricing on the stx heatsinks, look at HLG pricing on the Slates or I'm sure Rapid sells the heatsinks on own. There's a huge difference in cost. I prefer a huge meaty sink on a 100w cob, not three sharing a low cooling metal board.
