2 of those are $348 and you will make the $48 up in energy savings in less then a year.

I believe you are in a 10 sq ft space (2x5, if I recall reading in another thread.). HPS is probably your best choice for your budget.I could use like $350 max preferably but I'm growing for personal use so I don't think I need the most expensive. I could use more if absolutely necessary but I don't want to obviously lol.. I'm looking to upgrade from 500w of cfl spiral bulbs @REALSTYLES
Looking at Rahz's suggestions I take it that you have to use 2 drivers to get these results? And the draw on the mains would be the sum of the amps of the drivers? Looking at the table I should be able to run 6 Vero29s on a HLG-240H-c1050 even if they don't completely "fill" the driver. Will this work?Wattage will be variable but it's been demonstrated that 1500 PPFD is the maximum light intensity the plants can deal with before growth rates begin to decline. Even with COBs there will be some intensity variance across the canopy so keeping things under 1300 PPFD is a good idea.
6 CXB 3590s at 2.1 amps would provide 1350 PPFD in a 3x3, would be 453 watts dissipated, 231 PAR watts.
6 at 1.75 amps would provide 1145 PPFD (375 watts 200 PAR watts)
8 at 1.4 amps, 1285 PPFD, 398 watts, 223 PAR watts
10 at 1.05 amps, 1230 PPFD, 355 watts, 213 PAR watts
16 at .7 amps, 1360 PPFD, 368 watts, 235 Par watts
I'm thinking any of those 3 middle options would be really intense without being too crazy about it.

If you can grow a plant then you will be stoked with the resultsI'd be stoked with the results?

2 HLG-185H-C1400B
8 CXB3590 36v
8 Clamps: 50-2303CR
8 Reflectors: F13838_ANGELINA-XW and reflector holders.
Heatsinks: bars, pin fins, CPU coolers, etc. up to you
50K Ohm potentiometer if you want to wire the dimmers together.
Cutter Electronics should sell most of that stuff or substitute items as individual components. Also Kingbrite. There are some retailers here that sell cobs and kits, PLC, Northern Grow Lights, Timber, etc. Octopart.com can be useful.
I've got lower prices now $38 for the CXB3590 and I also carry the Meanwell drivers. I'm the shortcut to Kingbrite just ask Jerry. If you are in the US I'm the man now get at me on Skype my name is the same and we'll chop it up about what I can do.If you can grow a plant then you will be stoked with the results

That is the basic formula for my tent. Using a 2x2.5 tent with 5 cobs running at 50 watts each. 50 watts per square foot.I just want the best fucking cob setup for a 3x3. So 8 3590's @1.4a?? I'd be stoked with the results?
Help. I'm tired of researching this shit. I just want to have a shopping list so my buddy can build this thing for me.
No budget issues, just want a good setup for a 3x3.
Links? Advice? This is so over my head... I don't want any prefab shit, just the correct things to buy for a DIY cob setup designed for a 3x3
Falsemars works just fine...the guy has a 3x3 tent not a full blown commercial grow...get a mars panel or two and you will see great results
