best light for 36x20x63 tent?

Just like the title says whats the best light for that amount of space? Im hoping to grow at least 3 plants.. right now looking at either a T5 or 400w hps..

LED

your area is small with some height to it a led will be the best choice for u
t5 will do 12 to 16 inches
400w mh and hps will do 18 to 20
led will do 20 to 36 (depends on lens angle )

a hid light in there u will need a fast fan to keep cool ...........the t5 is great for starting and getting veg going but lacks power for dense buds (tho it does make a great finishing light)

just make sure u get a led with a veg and flowering mode or a programmable led light

He may not have the budget for LED, and stop spreading misinformation the 400w will easily cover the whole thing.... saying a 400w only covers a 20inch space is ludicrous

Most 400watt lights are rated at 12 square feet or 3x4 which is 36x48in.

LED very high capital cost, lower heat and power draw
HPS/MH less expensive, high heat and power draw

heat is easily managed, but depending on grow skill and quality of LED light, LED can equal/outgrow HPS/MH. Without telling us your budget no one can make an informed suggestion for you sorry buddy.

Thank you both, am looking to keep it under $200 as it is my first grow and reslly just wanna do a test run to see how it goes. From what i've gathered from my research most leds in that price range arent really efficient. If anyone has any links or suggestions to which lights would be good id really appreciate it. Thanks

i was talking in depth ..............the top buds always look good why it is the cola but the rest of them HPS is good ....but LED is better (those lower sites get more energy and get thicker )

if this is just a test run see if u like it .........get a T5 light ...............it will grow u something and allow u to decide if u want to invest in this plus the light will still have a function later for u as a starter light for seedlings or a 2ndary light for later u can add different bulbs

I've seen some great T5 ScrOGs on RIU. A friend of mine went to hps in an indoor grow, and said he'd never go back. Such a difference in bud density and yield. I'm doing a single 200w cfl in a cab now (scrog), but I'm super low-budget. I'm happy just growing bud, and it's enough for my medical needs.

Hey so I'm looking at getting an led from www.topledgrowlight.com, I'm looking at either the 96x3 reflecfor or the mars I I 400w. Will either of these work or suffice for 3-4 plants in my tent?

Yeah I saw that.. was actually my first choice, but after some discussion I was thinking that an led would be more cost efficient and slightly easier to setup. This such a hard decision.. anyone know anything about the topledgrowlights?

Ive run a 600 in that space but it was an overkill. I would go with a 300 watt vipar led off ebay or a 250 watt hid for max efficiency. The both will run you between 100 an 200 for full light setup.

Mars grow 2 400w
Mars 2 reflector 96x3w
Or the old 200x3w

These are in my price range and so far I've read good reviews on these. Will any of these work for the amount of space I have and for 3-4 plants ?

Or if anyone knows of any in that are under $200?

Vipar LED's are great for cheaper lights. But a 400 HPS and MH will kick cheap LED ass dollar for dollar. Trust me spent too much money on cheap LEDs. Had a 200 dollar LED 270 watt (90 3watt diodes) grew one plant and it vegged amazingly well. Like really well. But bud time it just didn't have the juice. My 400 hps throws out nice chunky buds in a 3x3 tent.

Checkout propaganda farms on YouTube. He's run several LED's of varying wattages with really nice results

I do use my led with the hps lamp and the ladies seem to love the mixed spectrums.

Originally I wanted the hps as I know I'd have good results but I'm worried about the electricity bill going crazy.. is there not much difference when it comes to electricity consumption?

How much are these lights... I went to the site and there are no prices. I too am thinking about this.

as for prices i know what they cost but the ppl that sold it to me ask not to openly post that info ...............they are the makers not the retailers so the lights are for sale here but at a different price once u know the different u will be pissed,,,,,,,,they do not want to piss off the retailers and cause the sales for them to drop

they are more then happy to sell them to u in large amounts or single units

I ran a 400 watt mh/hps in one that size no problem... The height became an issue over time due to plant size on some strains. Was a great size to learn in though..

Looking at a 400 or 600 watt hps on Amazon. $119 which is pretty good i think for the kit but problem is alot of the sellers don't ship to my area. Why I don't know. I am in Canada!!
