I would say don't worry too much if you already have a soil mix with NPK in.
i grew my last load of auto's in an organic mix i made myself including: a regular potting soil with mild nutrients, fish, blood and bonemeal, worm humus casting, perlite and epsom salts.
They were happy as larry right up to the chop and i didn't add anything

thanks for the info The2TimEr i think ill let them go for 2 weeks with just the nutes in the soil and then maybe start them on a light feed until flowering starts

thanks for the info joe, gona have to make do with the 600 for this grow but on the plus side im not using the whole 1.5mitre so i shortened the side walls down a bit with some light tight film so its now just under a mitre... any advice on whitch nutes to start of with... heavydutynugz have u seen an pics of these big bang autos everything ive seen on them are pretty ugly plants with huge yields if grown right...

I would imagine that you would only be flowering nutes. Autos show usually in 3 weeks, so there is no point in using veg nutes that are high in N because the plant is not ready for any nutes at that point.

Most common mistake people make with auto's is switching to bloom nutes as soon as sex is shown. Don't switch to flowering nutrients until after the stretch has stopped (week 5-7) if you want to get the most out of the plant. Be VERY careful feeding auto's. They are VERY nutrient sensitive and burn easily. Even the larger auto's that I run can't be pushed past 1.25ec / 635ppm in full bloom without tip burn.

I use General Hydroponics FloraDuo and add Liquid Koolbloom in flower. Killing it so far. Koolbloom doubled my yield.
Can be used in Hydro, Soil, and Soilless.

Check out the links in my Sig for some pretty killer auto grows.

Peace.

Good to know. For my first attempt, I started with one auto and one just fem - but I mixed them up. I killed one and when the other was a month old and I saw a grow journal here with the same strain (Nirvana Bubblelicious), I realized that I still had the auto.

I'm just past week 5 using quarter strength veg nutes - today's feed was closer to half strength, and I did an LST tie-down. I'm using coco and Botanicare Pure Blend. I think once it starts gowing up again, I'll begin to switch to bloom nutrients and add 2700K bulbs - I have a small DIY CFL cabinet.
