You cant do organic in hydroponics?? Why are you saying the only reason for soil is for organic use? Hydroponics yes does turn out a better product and a higher yeild but soil is also alot easier if this is his first grow or he is still really new i would suggest soil to him. Hydro is not crazy difficult but it is alot more involved making sure the ph is balanced 2 times a day checking the ppm to make sure nutes are not to high or low. Making sure the res doesnt go over 70 degress, Root rot is alot easier to get when doing hydro, there are a bunch of factors people like to do soil even though the yeild and product will be less then hydro. I def agree he should do hydro if he knows what he is doing but from the question he is asking i would imagine this is probly his first real grow or his first grow in general and soil would be better for him to get the hang of things and learn how to read his plants. Either way i use Advanced nutrietns and they have 10000 different bottles but im only using 3 things from them and one of them is a 2 part solution so thats 2 of the 3 bottles. Either way you there are alot of good things out there you can get. Hope i was somewhat helpful in my post and im not trying to sit here and argue a point everyone has there own opinions but i use advanced nutrients for my hydro and love it and for my first soil grow i used the technoflora kit for success which comes with like 8 different nutes and additives it gives you a feeding schedule to follow and makes it super easy and the product came out stinky sticky and good!! I would suggest using that kit for success especially if its your first grow. There are some nutes out there that are better of course but this kit tells you exactly how much to put in at exactly what times and explains what they all do its a very easy kit and the results are impressive as well
