Best or easiest wat to make co2.

Yeah, without investing in a meter, no way to say what a bag of shroom poop will do, either. Could just
sit there for all I know.

Hdawg, 2 bottles, a sensor controlled regulator and controller. I get that. I peeked at your garden
just now and it looks great.

So, question. You won't grow without it. I got that. But, what is the real difference?

I'm trying to map to my situation. Very short veg period and turn around the blooms every 8-9 weeks.
- I can worry less about 85+ temps. CHECK
- I can't find difinitive answers if CO2 is useful thru Bloom.

What say you, HydroDawg421? Will it make more potent meds or only biggeer plants, faster if you gas?

Breathing is a site lot easier to do than make a co2 generator :p
 
I'm now wondering about dry ice. Temp control in a small grow is essential in summer. It's a real
reason for using co2 for me. Dry ice can help keep down the temp without introducing water vapor.

Seems like you could have a sealed box to capture the melted co2 gas and hold the melting block.
Then pull air into the grow from that? Anyone tried it?
 
Well, on this forum, folks use dry ice. Interesting. I just read where you gas off about 5-10 pounds of
frozen material from a block in a cooler, every 24 hrs. So, the gas will remain if sealed, it's heavy and
a big molecule. Also found this from greenman.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) levels should be high, particularly during the FLOWERING PHASE . Growth rates can be increased dramatically if the CO2 level is near 700 ppm. 300 ppm (Outside Air) 700 ppm (Ideal) 2000 ppm (Plants Burn) 5000 ppm (Death)

So, I'm not sure if the 1500 ppm comes from those the sell C02.

1500 is closer to maximum CO2 you can have before it starts to decline in helpfulness to the plant. I think it's a bit absurd to try and run everything on maximum - much easier to fuck things up

Cool, big, flat, wide top. So, between 1000 and 1500 ppm = about the same effect.

The CO2 will make your plants bigger and have MASSIVE buds . . . Only if ALL the other variables are controlled too (heat, light, water temp, etc. )

Potency is DIRECTLY related to the strain and CO2 will NOT make anything more potent.

Pick a strain with good genetics, control the environment you grow in & pick massive buds!

BTW, will be using UVB reptile lights along with HPS.

UVB is said increase potency. Something about the diameter of the resin spheres
on the stalk is the right size for the [SIZE=-1]320 nm - 290 nm freq. of UVB to increase the amount
of actual THC is produced in there. Ever try that?

If UVB light increased potency everyone would be using them. THC levels are determined by genetics not lights. However, it is possible to decrease potency by having a bad environment, etc .
 
Entertaining logic circle. But, I don't buy it. Plenty more are using it as time goes on. New tech is adopted or rejected. And while I agree with you, in that, you can't go beyond the maximum for a strain, perhaps what is considered here w/UVB is getting to the max available in your grow. Of course, outside, is max UVB. No worries.
 
The water cooled co2 with natural gas is the bomb. I can't imagine ever going back to anything else. Cheapest, least amount of work, and no tanks to exchange. The way I have it set up outside my room minimal heat and humidity. Even with propane I'd still say it's best.
 
I use the same diy set up, with sugar and yeast, i change the solution daily, or when i can visually tell the reaction is over. However, i have experimented with a bagfull of decomposing bannanas, sprayed with insecticide to avoid ants, left below the canopy... I did notice accelerated growth for the two days i decided to use them .


All organic matter decomposing produces c02. Mother nature knows best

Agreed, understanding a plants genetics fully is the only way to get best results, not all strains like the same treatment. If you understand how the plant works with light, nutes and gasses then understanding how your strain produces thc, cnb, resin and trichomes then you can begin to push the limits of your strains potency. UVB light is what causes a ' sunburn' factor on buds, and as a direct result causes resin to be excreted to act as a protective coating. All the good stuff is grown in climates with high uv factors. That all said there are a lot of things that determine potency, high altitude is also a star for potency. Bottom line is, if you dont know how to specifcally look after your strains genetic requirements right, she wont be the best she can be.

    I have used this product over my house plants; Donkey Tale, Spider Plant, Aloe Sophie and a Jade. A few days after placing the bag over the plants, I had noticed that the Donkey Tale had started to gravitate toward the bag growing upward rather then hanging down. The stock of the plant became harder and the fleshy bud shaped leaf also became harder and were less likely to fall off when being moved.
    The spider plant changed from a light green to a darker green 3 weeks later and it began flowering 1 1/2 month later.
    The Aloe plant's leaf also had firmed up and where I had clipped off the leaf I noticed new growth starting that was not their before.
    THEY WORK!
