Best Plant DYING!!!! NEED HELP!!!!!

Hello bredren and sisdren. Idren is new here.

I got a very BAD problem and need help fast. NO TIME TO WASTE !!!!!

My most prized plant is starting to take a nose dive fast and I don't know from what.

I did my daily inspection 2 day ago and found a perfectly round hole in the middle of the plantz stalk. It'z so perfectly round it lookz like it was done with a drill!!!! So I decided to wrap a piece of thick medical tape around the hole to cover it up (real smart,I know). I checked it today and whatever it is has ate right through the tape!!!! My plant is started to get weak and droopy. The stalk where the hole is-is starting to lean over a little bit. The plant as a whole is starting to droop and lean and just look weak and sad. I really don't wanna lose my best friend!! Up untill now it'z been a strong and vigouris plant. It'z almost 4 monthz old and it'z grown outdoorz. It'z about a 5 foot bush.

Could someone PLZ HELP me out. I've never seen anything like this in my life before. I need to act quickly or my plant is gonna die!! Any ideaz or help would be greatly appreciated. Time is running out. I'll try to see if I can get some picz up in a little while. PLZ HELP!!!!!!!!!

Fuck... without pix I couldn't even venture a guess. But, you've gotta start somewhere, and if it were mine and I wasn't too close to harvest I'd hit it with some malathion or... crap, the name of it's escaping me now. However, malathion can be used on foodstuffs (fruits and vegetables) no more than three days before harvest (should be washed off first), and it's good for many boring insects.

You could also make a tobacco tea, but that is not a systemic and you have to let it steep overnight.

First get something to support your plant, you don't want a plant that big bending over. i would then put something in the hole, maybe some paper towel or something like that. I know bugs dont like going through sap so if you can get some tree sap cover up the holes and put some sap on the covers. this is just what i would do.

THANX bro. I have no idea either. But It'z some kind of boring insect bastard!!!! I just took some shitty cell phone picz but I don't think it'll help,the picz don't show much. Just a plant that'z droopy and leaning over. Someone told me to fill in the hole with a ball of aluminum foil and put some wax over it. I don't know tho'!!!!!! They said it might be too hard and nasty for the bug to eat thru' it. So I'm trying that for right now. If the creature or creaturez get trapped inside by it maybe they'll die or just kill my plant anyway. We'll see what happeningz inna couple of dayz. Maybe I'll get someone who'z had the same problem and knowz how to fix it. BTW....the plant is still in it'z VEG cycle. They don't start budding around here untill September thru' October. PEACE fam.

soulscientist, I have found a LOT of answers by just Googling the problem (description) and add "plant" to it. So you might find something by Googling "plant, stem, stalk, bore, hole"

the tin foils a good idea. but i would put something in the hole so it doesn't dry out. then wrap the stock of the plant with the tin foil. peace

Anyone around you that doesn't want you growing? Never heard of this in 40 years. Seems a genuine borer would skip the tape and just eat another hole? Maybe pack the hole w/cloning gel/powder, then super-glue the hole shut?
Depending on where on the stalk this hole is, I might consider hacking it off there (closest node below hole), if I couldn't solve this oddity.
Be sure to let us know if you ever figure out what's going on there.

Yeah....suffice to say,I'm feelin' very fuckin' pissed and at the same time sad!! I'm sure every grower knowz the feelin' of watchin' a beautiful plant waste away and feelin' helpless 'coz u can't do shit about it!! Ah,the beauty of life and death,the great mystery. PEACE fam. :?

I'd just like to say THANX so far to everyone who'z weighed in on the subject so far. I just went out and wrapped a thick ass piece of aluminum foil mixed with wax around the stalk. But I was thinkin' if the little bastard could eat it'z way in then it could just as well eat it'z way out!! I'll continue to keep an eye on it and see what happenz. I wish I could catch the fuckin' bug in action and KILL it'z worthless ass!!

I'll keep everyone updated on what happenz. If it diez it'll probably be within the next week the way thingz look. Keep my friend in yr prayerz.

I think I might be dealing with some kind of catipiller or corn borer. Not sure tho',just a guess.

The site getz pretty in-depth and scientific with it. Maybe it could help someone else before they get into the same shit I'm in.

that happen to mine and it was never the same again just let it rip take as many clones as possible because once something like that happens it cant take in as much water or nutrient and eventuallly die so dont waste ur time bro it sucks but life goes on

I don't know if it'z a male or a female yet. Still to earlier outdoorz to tell. So taking clonez at this point would be futile. THANX for the advice tho'. We'll see what happenz. I'll keep posting. oNe,Ra

A quick update.

I found another hole bored into the stalk today up above the other one. So far the plant seemz to be fightin' the damage.

I think I might have found the culprit. An elder in my area has told me it'z probably something called a boring wasp or bee. They'll bore into the stalkz of plantz and use the material to build their nestz. If that'z what it is (and I hope it is) then I should be OK. I-Mon said that they really don't hurt the plantz that bad. They don't feed off of it and destroy it like the catipillerz that bore into the plantz do.

So I'll keep updating and we'll see what happenz. Hopefully it'z just the damn wasp!! PRAY.

man something bored a hole in one of my plants too!! i couldnt see either insect so i just left it alone. my plant kept growing around the whole until the hole almost disappered.
