Best plants looked dead after switching to 12/12.

This morning I changed the lights to 12/12 when the light came on this evening my 4 biggest plants are all drooped over on to themselves, all 4 of these are in the one rail system. That system has 4 other plants that are smaller that were not affected like this. My other rail system wasn’t affected as severely either, plants are smaller but only 2 plants looked to have any droopy leaves but not bad. It is about an hour later and those 4 plants are starting to lift back up towards the light and actually look like they will survive.

Does anyone have any idea what I have going on here or how to prevent or help the situation?

Should I have switched to 16/8 for a few days before hand? I am really scratching my head and not sure what I should do with the light schedule at this point.

Any input would really be appreciated.
Thanks,

Sorry for the shitty pics only got a phone camera.

Pump is 1 on 5 off. Roots are good, there is definitely a mat.

All plants look normal after a few hours of light.

ur problem was the light switch...
u went from cmh to hps and the plant is now only getting half of the lghting spectrum. for sum reason everytime i switch bulns my plants always burn a lil. i switched to just running mh from start to finish and i likw it. plants lool healthy and the extra uvb will help with trich production.
if u wanna run hps then do it from the start dont switch bulbs bro
look into lighting and spectrumes of those bulbs and ub be surprised!

They were under MH and I did switch to HPS but they only drooped the first night, haven't had a problem since with that, I didn't get any burning or anything more like the plants decided to take a nap, 4 hours after the lights came back on they all looked normal. I think I will veg 20/4 going forward to see if I have the same problem next time. Thanks for the reply!

Did you change anything else? PH, PPM, different water source? I run hid in veg and hps in flower with no problems at all??

Nothing it was just the first day of night cycle that they did this drooping. I have never seen anything so severe, I have been growing for a long time but always soil, this is my first attempt at Aero. I have seen droop on other plants when i switched from 12 x 12 just never as severe as this, they practically looked dead. They look great now but it was interesting to say the least. Everyone keeps asking about environment variables, really the only difference between the 4 plants that drooped and the 4 that didn't was size. 8 plants were in this one system, so the 4 that looked normal and the 4 that drooped had exactly the same thing as far as water, ppm, ph, light etc..
