Yeah man this is exactly what I'd ask first and if you don't know then what's some stuff you do like already op ? Also are you open to seeds from everywhere or just north America
There the same as any who bulk buy hit or miss however there's plenty of European and UK boutique breeders out there that do good work so it's not all the same just the big guys more so
What i mean is more like:
You can look and look for "the best" seeds available. But you might be better off with just trying weed out the bad and just regular ones. Look for information about whatever youre wanting to buy rather than trying for "best seedbank" type of search terms. What seedbank or breeder isnt going to give some "were/theyre best" search results? By looking for "best" youre either going to get the breeder/seedbanks own sales blurb or the guys basicly the reviews of type of "i bought this here and it was the best cause its what i bought" type of answers online. People always tend to qualify the results of their own choices as great. But looking for peeps that give out balanced reviews that give the good and the bad, or just enough details to give you the impression that they went into their review with a
In the end buying seeds is a lottery ticket. You wanna know that your lottery ticket isnt likely to be bad out of the gate, that it gives solid results out of almost every seed. Then you just have to hope for "best". Its about whats your strategy of searching and what type and how reliable that info your getting is going to be.
The analogue would be searching for a film to watch on imdb: you can either look directly at the rating: this is the average people given to the movie. Or you can look for the individual reviews where someone does their own write up of the film and give their rating.
If you see individual reviewers giving solid 7s every time, or people giving 10s or 3-4s - well thats an information in itself. For seeds for a small personal stash grower it would probably be better to look for solid 7s - stable genetics that produce decent to great plants every time, rather than modern genetics which are hit and miss but great when you catch that one pheno out of 20.
Its about how you search, what info its likely to provide, and i think its better to just try to look discard the bad ones than finding the best, cause theres always going to be a lot of "yes great the best" results out there. hope you feel me
