The best thing for under a dollar is those mexican suckers from the ice cream trucks. Chile Mango suckers are a gift from mexico and god.

cheap mesh strainers. when i used screens, i cut pieces off the strainer of this with scissors and made a to fit screen for it. i work at a pretty much dollar store hardware store and we sell them for like $.33.
