Prolly better off to start of with a more humble name that doesn't suggest he is a Dutch Master and then start asking some basic shit about growing, Like that is a question basically about growing anything anywhere. The information on growing in specific areas is plastered all over the net. So Dutch Master + Newb question = Sarcasm from me.

Your Right though with many years of Experience and some help from RIU he indeed can become a New York Yankee Master.

My apologies for my lack of propriety I was mildly offended/amused.
dutch master refers to a type of blunt not the persons abilities.

condescending remark + lack of knowledge of the most popular smoking device on the east coast=asshole

Boom. I know this thread is from last year but growing in New York is not legal..... :)

Bang. You can grow 12 plants in NYS…I know the thread is from when i was like 22 years old, but why is the one dude giving dutch masters problems with his name?? Thats the kinda crap people got into here back in the day….?Back in the late 00s in the long island/queens/brooklyn area, If we weren’t hittin glass, we were rolling dutchies. Having younger siblings in their early 20s now, i know that ever since they started smoking it was NEVER dutches…. they like these nasty backwoods and some kinda swisher or philly ciggarillo…. Def missing out on a good old palma dutch master, with as much inner and outer leaf taken off as possible.

Now at 30 if im not smoking my illadelph im using natural rolling papers, but damn that dude was a douche….Glad when i was a youngn and started tokin’ back in later 07, im glad grasscity was the place to be. No matter how wet behind the ears you were, always some chill dudes to help out. That one guy mustve been on day 2 or 3 of a T-break or something….Thats not how fellow growers, or just stoners talk to each other. Toke up and chill, :bigjoint:

I am in NE Pa close to the border of NY. I have to wait until the end of May before the last frost is gone here and the ground is warm enough.
I always start indoors and transplant later. I made the mistake op putting them in too early my first year and lost some nice plants to the ground being to cold still.
I'm New to the site and found it searching for the best time to start my seeds. I saw u are from nepa. I'm right on the other side of the river by narrowsburg. So my question for u is. Is there a certain time u start to germinate? Meaning u always start your seeds the 2nd week of April so they are ready to plant in May? Or are u going by the weather to start meaning it could be Apr 1 or the middle of May to start germinating and the weather is guaranteed to be no lower the 60° during the day?
I'll be honest. I'm looking more for a dummy guide on when to start. Lol sorry and thank you.

Ps if there is a good guide book or YouTube channel please let me know. I'm working my way towards turning my property into a homestead.

I am in the process of starting my seeds now. Located on LI.
Plan to run them in tent until May first or there about then put them outside.

It really depends on the climate that you have, I think I have a bit of a micro climate here. I have a humidity producing grove of bamboo next to my planting. Located close to a large body of water which helps to temper the weather a bit

Sunrise / Sunset Calendar has be a huge help in determining when to put the plants outside. The calendar will give you the sunrise / sunset for that day and the day length. Any time over 14.5 hours and you should be safe from from plants wanting to flower. I typically will wait until May 25th for my plants to head out. May 25th the sunrise time is 6:10am and sunset is 9:10. When I start my ladies in mid April I set my timer for this exact light schedule so when they head out there isn't any confusion. This has worked for me.

A sun calendar is worth checking out, 15 hours of veg may seem like to little but in reality the max amount of daylight is usually around the summer solstice (June 20th) which in Michigan is about 15.5 hours. I start seeing my ladies flower towards the end of July when days get under 14.5 hours.

If your new to growing outside the best advice I could give you is to pick strains that work with your environment vs. strains you want to run. Not every strain does well in every climate. Being in the north east, id find some strains that are hardy and quicker finishers. Otherwise you will most likely end up with bud that isn't fully ripe or lost to rot.
