It is my understanding bubble size really doesn't matter, its the surface movement that oxygenates the water (bubbles agitating the surface of the water). Thats why flooming and waterfalls work so effectively.
After a bit more learning, I think I'm going to try Cap'n Style instead of RDWC. It seems like it will be a bit easier for a first grow with similar results.

You’re describing how the thing works that you are referencing, which is the child but NOT the parent (aeration).
Venturi creates a vacuum which injects air to a water stream. The water is more than oxygenated and the size of the bubbles could be altered more efficiently by putting a shower nozzle or a nylon net or mesh head on the end of your outward tube. You can clamp or screw on an attachment to further reduce bubble size.
