Why if you have coco coir would you want soil? Ever since I saw all the bugs and everything that come with soil (even under most optimum conditions some beneficial bugs will come, ie: Springtails), I started using coco and never looked back. Plus the growth rate and recovery rate is so much faster.

I LIVE IN NORTHERN CANADA...for you Americans, that's the country above you..I live close to Alaska..so think of rural and times that by 500. the town i live close to ( 3 hour drive) has about 20,000 people in it. most of the roads out here are dirt for the 4ish months of summer we get. and solid ice at -40F for the rest of it.. so yeah going to my local hydro store...8 hour drive...
i drive 2 hours to my hydro store. if you want good results, ull do whatever is necessary to achieve them. i order everything online.. there has to be a site that ships to canada...and by the way.. we all should know where canada is.. you dont need to act like were stupid by putting "for you Americans, that's the country above you" .. were stupid but your asking such a simple question about soil..

Miracle grow organic or african violet. Organic doesnt have as much lime . Av can be a bit too alkaline.
Mixeither one with equal parts perlite and good t go

Only nute youl need is bloom booster and epsom or molasses
1/2 tsp per gallon every watering with av to lower ph and its all good. 1/8-1/4 tsp epson. Alittle more fpr molassesl
MG does work just fine...many grows with it but do add some perilite.

I have some coco coir. not a whole lot. coco coir requires nutes, i do have some but not a whole lot. so id like something that can supply some nutes. now the thing i worry most about other than quality of soil is fucking bugs and fungus gnats. i guess i could get the stuff that's been stored inside. and hope to god its clean. either that or I might be able to find a bail of sunshine mix.. which i think is nothing more than peat moss. as for my coco coir i need to flush it till no more brown shit comes out and the salt is gone...

i was thinking maybe just running pure perolite and cococoir. then just getting some 1 or 2 part nutes..

Canadian tires Premier standard green bag 3.99 potting soil is what I use. Mix that with some bagged compost some alfalfa bone and blood meals and worm castings, which will probably be the hardest things to find, and you're set.

the thing is i have a superiority complex because I like to learn things on my own.. it seems like most people just follow along like sheep.. ohh its been the tried and true.. so you dont try a different path.. and most of the time the advice i get leads down to being bullshit once tested using science.. yes i could spend money on so called good shit.. or be stupid and buy minced bark or a bag of compressed moss. what i ended up choosing for a medium this time is a 70/20/10 mix of Pro mix potting soil coco coir and vermiculite. I still have some GH nutes lying around so ill use them up and go to flora nova after..

for someone that has "no clue" as to what I am doing.. i can make a fair bet that my pot.. in the end is not that much worse off than yours. and yes ive been on here 6 years.. way more than 6 years experiance growing..but i use to grow outside mostly. and lived in a place where growing the stuff was easy.. up where i am now.. things are a little different.. even with years of experience..

perfect medium...why didn't you say you had all those things in the first place? lol I've never tried flora nova, but if you have the money then Dyna Gro Foliage Pro and Pro-tekt would work perfect in that container. And I think they are cheaper?

Here I thought our suburb to the north got all our school books once we were done with them and used them to heat their homes.

your saying i didnt try anything else? your full of shit mate.. i started off in miracle grow and used soil from lowes for awhile... it all has alot of bark.. do you know where bark comes from? trees... do you know where trees are? in the forest... wheres the forest? outside.. whats outside? BUGS! i used coco my last grow when i did a vertical bare bulb.. ive tried different paths.. i guess you gotta find out on your own.. 6 years of growing you should know at least what soil to get... no matter where you are.. fox farms has some bark but ive never had a problem with bugs like i did with any other soil... do whatever you want ..oh i forgot to say.. if you like to learn things on your own then why did you even make this thread? should have just bought a bag and tried it.. if the plants died buy a different bag and repeat... seems like a waste of time to me but hey.. you said it..
