I have a 90 gal African Cichlid tank that I water from & I believe it compliments the organic grow, the water just has to be well conditioned. Plus good microbs & nitrogen.

Rain water is the best water to use if you have a steady supply since it doesnt contain chlorine or other substances that is harmful to marijuana. Besides that, RO is the best option but plain ole tap water is also fine. Just make sure you leave it (tap water) out in an open container for at least 24-48 so the the chlorine can evaporate and ph it to around 6.5-6.7. Hope this helps.

I bought my self a stealthRO100 by logic tech and love it. Got aa 85gal rez hook up to it with a float vaulve so everytime i take water to refill hydro set up . The one i got in my sig. the float vaulve drops and refills the rez till its full. The ppm is around 85-125 and ph is kinda high 7.0 but 2 drops of ph down and its at 5.8 and hold for 4 days even sometimes with out even touching it. very smart investment. Happy growing :).

thanks for the replies guys, helpful stuff. i think i might lean toward the rain water suggestion if i can manage it. now, if i want to grow hydro in a deep water bucket, is tap still ok? i don't think it's the best tap water, i don't have a tds tester, do you think the plants will stand a chance in there? i'll ph it, but i think the water is probably full of junk..

Hey String, here's a rule of thumb you might use: IF you can drink the water from your tap, and it's not killing your lawn, it's probably just fine for your girls. Most American communities don't have the horrible "over clorination" problem of years ago. Think of all the large cities that have botanical gardens. Those fancy hybrid Tea Roses are getting plain ol' "Tappa Pura" for sure and surviving just fine. A lot of folks get a little over protective, and if they want feed their girls Perrier by the gallon, I say go ahead, it sure can't hurt. Good luck & good grow.......BB

ya, you're prolly right, i'm just worried because we had an ecoli scare in this town a while back in the water.. and they fixed it by jamming shit in the water. i don't drink it right now.. so i'm trying to keep my girls away from it

i might go with a couple small deep water buckets / totes while the water gets better, i figure that a 3gal bucket or a 10 gal tote or something, that way i'm only using like 10 gal a week.. i can buy that for 8-10 dollars, that's not too bad for now.. i dunno, i'm still rolling ideas around

Absolutely Dude, as I said, if you won't drink it, don't give it to your girls. Sure sorry to hear about FUBAR muni-H2O, hope they get that fixed SOON. I wish you good luck & good grow......BB

PS: Hey, you might want to consider boiling the water till the tap comes back. Just a thought, seems cheaper than paying big $, and having to lug it around too?
