best way to get rid of spider mites?

abamectin for spider mites. very expensive tho. Orthene also works and is good for most anything that crawls,flys,wiggles or chews. this is a much cheaper route. But for spidermites specifically abamectin for sure. Al b. Fuct recomends it so take his advice not mine. spidermites are no joke. I would not use any voodojuices. Only the best for my gurls. Both of these are very potent and I reccomend wearing a good mask while spraying. I alternate the orthene and abamectin to prevent any resistance.The effects of these last around one month so if you are quick you have time. I also rotate spinosad in occasionally For thrip prevention This is biological and supposedlly can be sprayed in last wk b4 harvest. although I never spray anything within 4 wks personally. Lots of air movement will help keep em down. gl bro. spidermites can suk but trust me abamectin. Problem solved. I don't know how big your grow is but a battery operated sprayer is the shit. Bout 40 buks on ebay.

Guys , MIGHTY WASH !!!! Try and get a atomizer (borrow or rent one) ! Drench each plant individually in GREEN light , bottom to top AND back down , Put aside IN ORDER of drenching . After the last one I rinse with a solution of filtered water STACK and "Killer tea" from my sprayer . Grab the stems and shake off the excess . Turn up your dehumidifier to high and put back on your grow try . Check the next day with a 30 power scope . If you see any mites or eggs (if you don't know what the eggs look like get a picture on line ) If you see either, hit em again spraying the whole table bottom to top and down . 5 days later check again with the scope . This stuff WORKS ! If it doesn't work for you , you didn't do it right ! I had a bad problem and DIDN"T have to chop my girls like some have suggested ! I am mite free but always checking

I tried two in a 200 sq ft room with all wood walls and floors and ceiling sealed with silicone and those strips didn't do dick. I am spraying neem and some other stuff called Monterey Garden Insect Spray every two days and they are dying off now. Those hot shot strips were a joke to these bitches and I had 1000 ladybugs in there for over two weeks. I am staying on the organic method. I spray 0 tolerance on pots and water it in for the gnats. 0 tolerance kills weed if you spray it on them, unless you know what a 10% solution is, but that still makes em want to lockout it is weird shit. I have a swamp cooler and I add the 0 tolerance in that and now the bugs don't want in. They hate the odor of it and the neem and Monterey spray takes care of the living mites and eggs still in there. With organics you can spray up to two weeks and one week before harvest and not worry about it. My plants did not have severe webbing they were just on leaves I only found four with small webs and the webs went to four with the pest strips as soon as I used Monterey and followed with neem four days later and washed plants two days after the plants looked great, and no more webs. I have read that 0 tolerance is very good on mites but the bottle I have is super strong maybe a batch made too strong. When I spray soil and pots outside nothing messes with my organic tomatoes and lettuce.

My next addition will be mighty wash unless the shelf life is too short then I will wait until next run. Having three or four organic sprays kills them fast because they cannot get used to any of them.

AZAMAX works for me. If you get infested you will have to spray every couple days. Make sure you get under the leafs and squash any mites you see with your fingers. I have also use predator mites. I ordered the triple threat predator mites and by harvest I could not find a single spider mite. After a couple hours of searching leafs I found a few predator mites still alive and hunting. Predator mites are awesome!

mighty wash for sure it works great

I havnt read through this whole thread, but trust me, I used a simple mix of rosemary oil and safers soap! 7 ml per litre rosemary oil and a tablespoon safers soap. We tried all kinds of expensive shit, and this safe mix killed them all off in 10 days! Oh, and i sprayed every day, making darn sure to get the underside of the leaves. after the fourth day i rinsed with water. this mix has worked for all my buddies.

We can't forget Avid in a spider mite thread. It works like modern pesticide technology should; it works.

dude, forget avid, the rosemary oil/safers soap kicks ass over it. if you spray AVID, the little bastards actually go into egg laying mode super hard instantly, trying to keep their cycle alive. trust me gus, the rosemary oil/ safers soap is kick ass.....

I can't stand when someone tells another person to chop down there grow. Go get the strips...they work.

I have tried quite a bit and I swear by Azamax. It's a spray you can get from most hydro shops (It's not cheap, $20 for a small bottle and $65-70 for a large one) but it is the only thing that has worked well for me. You can spray all the way through flowering, I sprayed my plants heavily up until a week or so before harvest without any effects on taste. (I grow all organically in super-soil) Thing is you absolutely have to stay on top of it. If you wait a week or 2 between sprays you will see them back. A little preventative maintenance can go a long way with mites.
