Best way to select optimal phenotype (5 seeds, grow 2 plants at a time, time not a constraint)

Yea, planting all 5 would definitely be optimal. You'd just need a place to keep clones/mothers. Pick out the best 4 of 5 to stay legal

Bro thats the whole point of Seed Strains. LMAO. Breeders have already done this. Thats why its considered a strain.

Dont get me wrong I love the hobby side of growing. But I grow ultimately because I have a stepdad who has Degenerative Disk Disease and cannabis is the best thing for his pain. So I need to make sure there is enough to get him from grow to grow.

Now in my state medical laws say I can have 6 flowering, 6 in veg, and 6 as seedlings. I have 2 1k watt lights and 2 5x5 tents. I produce a ~2 lbs dry per tent. 3 plants in 25 gallon no till pots. So i produce about a pound per month. Strain dependent. I can get that higher by growing like a White Widow x Big Bud. Id get about 2.5 lbs per tent then. But that strain is meh. Impressive looking. Bag appeal is 10/10. but buzz is about a 5. Flavor is about a 3. However Sugar Black Rose. 7/10 bag appeal, Buzz is a lofty Indica 8/10 Flavor is AMAZING 10/10. (is this the type of stuff you want to get into?) Or is it "how does it grow" RDWC, Soil, Coco, Areo, DWC, DTW Top feed? Different strains do better in different "medium".

And we havn't even started to talk about growing characteristic. Some plants like to be topped, some LST, others screened. Some you better never do a thing too or they will hermie and Bill Cosby your whole grow op.

Then we have to debate flavor profiles between growing with chemicals in water vs full organic living soil. BRO. THERE IS SO MUCH SHIT TO THIS. Having grown in 5 gallon hempy buckets and now in organic no tills, the soil is way better imo.

I hope this is not the case. Never EVER any new Seeds?!!! That would be kinda sad. Id proly mail you some seed just so you had other shit to smoke. One strain gets boring once you've smoked a pound of it.

The ‘best’ for me would have to be which ever made me feel the best. I’m not interested in bag appeal. It’s just for me and my friends, so best effect , then next id say taste.

The only way to know is to smoke them all. And have it be a blind test. And actually be introspective.

Ahh so what you want is effect. I get that. I classify that under Potency. So my step dad loves Northern lights blue for arthitic and nerve pain. I have seen him asleep and in so much pain hes crying in his sleep to then wake up smoke a bowl of NLB and sleep much better. I like c99 great for energy, creativity and concentration. Puts my mom right to sleep and my step dad gets high but no pain relief.
As for your number 2 i again have to go back and say organic soil. All about the terps. Its slower the RDWC. But the flavor....And that is subjective lol.

Also don't forget to check the tric heads and harvest them when theyre all ready. Some may finish faster. Decide what cloudy to amber ratio you want. I lile 75 amber 25 cloudy in some strains. 50 50 in others.

Is that 4 plants totel or 4 plants in flower? I only ask because our state makes the distinction ... they only count plants in flower ... so in your case you'd only have 5 in flower during the first run.

Something tells me he is in Canada. With a 4 plant max, no distinction. It sucks for pheno hunting and breeding.
