Bidens Cabinet Choices

No, fuck Bernie Sanders, he's too old, Bernie needs to retire, he does not "deserve" anything. He's already made his life in politics and now it's time to quit, relax and spend time with the grandkids.

I would like to see younger (30-50 year old) faces in this administration. It is time for government to look like America, not 60-90 year old lifelong politicians
Andrew Yang Secretary of the Treasury

Bob Mueller wants nothing to do with being involved in another administration and I don't blame him.

She stays in the House where she does what she does best. Love her or hate her but she gets her troops to win the battle. Probably one of the most effective Speakers of the House in History. Newt Gingrich was a a force as well. You might not like him but he did his job and did it well just like Nancy. The biggest mistake would be for the Democrats to push for a Speaker that's too far left. Moderate politics work for both Democrats and Republicans. trump was too extreme which is why he was one of only three incumbent Presidents to loose a second term in the last century. Obama won a second term only because he moved to the middle where he needed to be to get the independent vote.

Everyone talks Democrat and Republican. The people that actually decide elections are Independents like myself and millions of others. Everyone else has already decided to just pull the trigger for the D or R. I will admit that I had decided to vote against trump back when he won in 2016 as did most Independents. But the guy was just so vile. The only reason he even won was because people hated Clinton more than trump. Unfortunately his one term has given those that promote his rhetoric some form of legitimacy in their minds. It's going to take some time to put that ignorance back under rocks all across the country.

But we'll get it done.

So to all those across the world that have been saying "What the fuck is going on over there?". I say, "We have it under control". We've stopped the infection and are currently undergoing treatment. The prognosis is good and we expect a full recovery.
I mean anything that comes across his desk by her.

Oh hell no. We just got rid of a looney narcissist billionaire.
No need to use trump rhetoric.

Yes people should be locked up. No need to gloat but the Democrats need to take the high road and not sensationalize. If people committed a crime then prosecute them. No need to make it front and center.

A Tar and Feather beginning won''t help Biden repair the damage trump has done to America and it's image across the world.

No chants of "Lock Them Up". We have an adult at the helm. Let's act like it.

Peace and good fortune to my fellow Americans. This is a good day. Lets focus on that for now. We've all had fun for awhile but we need to remember that almost half of America voted for trump. They are not in a happy place right now and most are decent people. No need for excessive gloating for more than a day. I'm gloating myself right now but tomorrow I won't. People deserve to celebrate but they shouldn't drag it out. The country is pretty shattered right now. We all need to put it back together and lose any animosity towards those that we disagree with.

I'm very happy that Biden defeated trump but I'm not naive enough to think that this changes the tone in America. The best way for Democrats to move the country forward is to embrace and console those that were on the losing side. The "Us Against Them" mindset needs to go. Time to get together and focus on the real issues we need to focus on.

There is common ground. Find it. Fighting amongst ourselves is exactly what foreign governments want. If you're a Biden supporter and want to celebrate then get it done and let it go ASAP. Because without the other 70 million people that voted for trump we're not going to be able to get anything done.

The Mueller investigation documented 10 counts of obstruction of justice by Donald Trump. The only reason he wasn't indicted is because he was president. No investigation is necessary, just a trial. Investigations are already underway on Trump's financial dealings and questionable tax write-offs. Those are being handled by the New York AG, nothing for us to do but wait and watch. Regarding Trump's attempted bribery in Ukraine? hell yeah, he should be investigated. That job is already half-done in the form of congressional investigations that led to his impeachment. All that remains is a look-over of the evidence by some prosecutor and I don't think a trial will take very long before he is convicted from a phone recording that contains the words "do me a favor" in exchange for him releasing public funds to Ukraine.

Republicans are the ones who aren't trying. A coronavirus relief bill was written and submitted to the Republican controlled Senate in June and they didn't do a thing until two months later, two weeks before existing aid packages expired, Republican Senators wrote and shoved a bill over to the House that was not acceptable to them, saying "take or leave it". A good faith effort would have been to pass that bill in time for negotiations, as House Democrats did two months before. Any attempts at finding an acceptable bill have been rejected. By Republicans.

We are dealing with zealots and radicals who don't negotiate. It is tearing this country apart. Democrats have made good faith efforts at working with them. How can you negotiate with people who ignore verifiable and objective facts? "It's just the flu and it's China's fault, I couldn't have done better" or "Human caused climate change is a hoax" or "there is no such thing as systemic racism in the US". After all the studies, data, explanations, expert witnesses, more data, more studies, world class scientists at work for years and what do they do? Find one piece of paper from somebody who isn't even an expert in that field and cite it as a reason to reject a mountain of information that says what they don't want to hear or conflicts with what they want. "I don't want to wear a mask". How do you find common ground with that? Explain how.

Assuming Republicans maintain control of the Senate, I do see gridlock in Congress for the next two years at least. We are dealing with zealots and radicals who don't negotiate. It's the electorate of red states who can break that gridlock, not Democrats. I'm trying to understand why they don't see what I see. Right now, I'm just trying to understand.

Elon believes in science.....and green energy

I also wonder if Biden will actually finish his term. Kamala could become President and she could nominate Obama as Vice President. Which the Senate would have to confirm. But then that would bring up a Constitutional issue if Kamala was no longer able serve and through succession Obama would then become President for the third time but not by election. The Constitution only says that you can only serve 2 terms but that's from winning as a candidate. Unless I'm missing something there is nothing in the Constitution to address a scenario such as this.

But I'm a little loopy from the Scotch so I'm just happy and rambling.
