Big f@#$ up

i need help! my plants had three 4 ft flourescents fall on them... it really sucks, and i smell like pot plants right now from cleaning the mess up

but... its time to start over... the last time i had no clue as to how to grow... but i kept these plants on a 16/8 lighting schedule... untill i found out bout flowering... and other shit.... how long should i leave my new little babies in veg before i change the light schedule?

any help will be greatly appreciated... i feel like ass for not supporting the lights good... but now if 4 fat industrial lengths of jack chain wont hold it then im just fucked...

I would wait untill they are around 12" or better then switch to 12/12 .. also use hps lights for flowering..

Are you sure your plants are dead? They are pretty resiliant and 16/8 isnt that badf especially if they r young enough just go up to 18. how long your growing them before flowering depends on the growth rate and strain and light your using. Rule of thumb is to veg plants to 1 foot tall before switching or 6" if clones or flowering under flouros i think. Thats about all I can giving you with such little information.

I may also suggest that you look into using CFLs if it's your first grow. You can grow a decent crop and get a lot of learning done for a lot less $. There's a great sub-forum in the Indoor Growing section with plenty of info and help. And make sure you keep the lights at 18 on/6 off for veg. Some people even go 24/0, but the extra light isn't all that beneficial. Just poke around some grow journals and ask questions and you'll manage to grow a sweet crop.

I wouldn't use any CFL's.. I say get use to what you plan on using everytime you grow... MH and HPS... i'd use the fluoresents for cloning!!

dude hes using fluros...the just not compact there tubes.

u asked when should i go 12/12 ? that is upto u , when u get to half the size u want the plant to be then switch 12/12 and your plant will grow just over double in size. i have been growing for 6 months and would like to say ditch the fluros the crap , i spend about $400 on my setup with cfls and relized just how shlt they are , yes there cheap to run but if u add up the yeild your losing .... goto a 400 wat hps and then u dont have to fuck about with more then 1 light "trust me its worth it"

i dont have the money at the time to spend an any lighting.... the tubes came from the shed... they was just paying around.... when i get the money i will do something else...

Yeah, even in a main stock broke, if it didn't break in half, the plant will come back for you. You just have to splint it. Just splint any broken limbs.. They will live. They WANT to live.

Yeah, I agree tape em all up and they should recover. (may take a while though) And also look into CFL's. Whoever says you can't do jackshit with them, you're wrong. They are easier to move and mount, good for first grows.

na... it was a clean cut about 8 inches from the base of the tree

did you use it as clones?

f$#$IN LIGHTS I HAD A LIGHT FALL THIS GROW TO BURNT THE SHIT OUT OF ONE PLANT BUT IT RECOVERED SO GOT PISSED OFF AND WENT OUT GOT A NEW REFLECTOR AND BALLAST 400W HPS AND FLOWERED FUCK THE CFLS MH/HPS FROM HEAR ON OUT. MY LIGHTS RUN 18/6 THIS GROW RUN FOR 57 DAYS DO TO A BURNT PLANT I NEEDED TO LET IT RECOVER A BIT BEFORE I FLOWERED AND I'M IN 2 WEEK INTO FLR AND LOOKIN GOOD. I LIKE TO FLOWER AT 40-50 DAYS BUT ITS UP TO YOU WHEN TO FLR. GOOD LUCK ON UR GROW BRO!
