SOIL:
A fridnd of mine is having a problem. See pics below

The problem is charachterized by multiple symptoms; primarily necrotic lesions (dark spots, dead spots) on the leaves, by some burning of leaf tissue and entire leaves, but also by some leaves appearing too light in color. It looks like nutrient burn to me but the problem has continued to worsen after flushing and a reduction to only 1/4 recommended feeding schedule strength of nitrogen and phosphorus in the veg and flower rooms respectively in the past two weeks. In the past week, the problem has started appearing in the veg room as well as the flower room. Some whole plants are unaffected, and some leaves on otherwise badly affected plants appear healty. New leaves may appear healthy for the first week or two of growth then die off quickly with the symptoms above.

The issue has been getting progressively worse over the last 3 weeks, started with older larger plants (meaning they were vegged longer and are in 5 and 7 gallon bags), but has been moving quickly on to the smaller, younger plants over the past week.

They are in Foxfarms Ocean Forest soil mixed with pearlite, in 3 to 5 gallon bags. They are fed Fox Farms 3-part fertilizer consisting of Big Bloom (micronutrient), Grow Big (veg) and Tiger Bloom (flower), the feeding scedule is followed closely in both concentration and frequency of feeding, and supplemented with Fox Farms 'Solubles' mixes depending on their stage of growth. These products are called 'Open Sesame', 'Beastie Bloom', and 'Cha Ching'. Some of the affected plants were given Botanicare 'CalMag' for some period of time when they were in veg. (I mention this because someone suggested a calcium or magnesium deficiency, in an attempt to resolve the issue they will be restarted on 'CalMag' immediatley)

There was a problem with spider mites a month ago, the rooms were given a pyrethrin fogger, then several sprays of neem and 'Safer Soap' and there is no further sign of mites. To prevent the bugs from returning, the soil was given a neem oil drench about a month ago. I almost want to blame the dying leaves on the pyrethrins, neem and soap but I'm just not sure as even leaves that have grown since then are affected by the issue.

Details and pics below

How long has this problem been going on?
3-4 weeks

What STRAIN are you growing?
Multiple strains affected, primarily Blueberry x Sweettooth (sometimes called '21' or 'bluetooth') and Casey Jones (sativa dominant, not sure the cross), also Blackjack and others

What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?)
Primarily clone for the affected plants

What is the age of your plants?
Affected plants age in range from 8 mos to 6 weeks, the youngest being clones of the oldest. The oldest are mothers that outgrew their space, were subsequently flowered, they were in veg for 5 or 6 months as mother plants, and have been in flower for approximately 8 weeks now. The youngest were taken as clones 8 weeks ago, were vegged for 30 days and moved to flower 30 days ago.

How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now?
See above (none were transplanted before flowering)

Were they in the same mixture when they were seedlings/smaller plant? If not, what mixture were they in before?
See above

How Tall are the plants?
Its a SCROG grow, so the plants are tied down to a metal screen, about 24 inches off the ground. If they were allowed to stand straight they would be anywhere from 3'- 5'

What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in?
Affecting plants of age from 4 weeks to 6 or 8 months

What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc)
SCROG

What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot)
3-7 gallon, depending on age of plant

What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?)
FoxFarms Ocean Forrest with ~15% perlite

What brand Nutrient's are you using?
Fox Farms, complete line

How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful*
Initially, for flower: 1-1.5TBSP Big Bloom + 1tsp Tiger Bloom + 1/4tsp Beastie Bloom / gallon (water PH'd to 6.8), and for veg: 1-1.5TBSP Big Bloom + 1tsp Grow Big / gallon (water PH'd to 6.8), though running on 1/4 of the above and flushing with water every 3rd day in the flower room because of the situation

How often are you feeding?
Every 2-5 days, ocassionally (once a week or so) flushing with only PH'd water

If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients?
Gradually upped the bloom nutrient from 1/4 strength to full strength per the Fox Farms feeding schedule

What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect)
Water, then micro, then either veg or flower depending on what room

What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used?
6.8

What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"?

How often are you testing pH/ppm/EC/TDS?
Not often enough, but using standard ammount of PH solution/gallon over lifetime of plants

What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen?
pen and solution

How often are you watering?
Every 2 days

When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding?
4 days ago, at about 1/2 strength

What size bulb are you using?
1K

How old is your bulbs?
Some brand new, some 1yr+

What is the distance to the canopy?
~24"

What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity)
Low; ~25-35% (never been a problem before)

What is the canopy temperature?
75 degrees f

What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range)
65 night 75 day

What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.)
750+

Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ?
two 6" exhaust fans, all 6" air cooled hoods

Is the fan blowing directly at plants?
Some

Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist?
Constantly moist, will be dry on top after several days without watering, always moist 1" down

Is your water HARD or SOFT?
hard

What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water?
tap water

If using tap water, what is the ppm/EC/TDS of the water right out of the tap?(Only if you have a tds pen)
250-300

If using RO,Distilled, mineral water, what is the ppm/EC/TDS without any additives?(Only if you have a tds pen)
n/a

Are you using water from a water softener?
No

Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched?
Some have, bad leaves removed from all

Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when?
Yes, pyrethrin fogger (Dr. Doom) + Softsoap + neem oil. See above

Are plant's infected with pest's?
Some spider mites may still be present.

looks like you could use some calcium and magnesium..also a few of the leaves look like you may have some critters. Have you checked the under leaves.?

i had a similar problem mine turned out to be thrips do a goggle search for thrips damage in images and see if it matches i hope its not, take a look under the leaf and look for black dots that's the thrip poop or use a microscope and you can see them they are a sob to get rid of but i did with Organocide™ sprayed them every 3 days in veg not sure if you can use in flower but i didn't just trashed my grow and washed walls, floor and ceiling
it is a nature-safe, organic spray oil effective on a wide variety of insects, mites, armored and soft scales and certain fungal diseases. Organocide™ is insecticidal to the eggs, larvae and nymphs of insects and adults of soft bodied insects

Active Ingredient: Sesame Oil.............5.0%
Inert Ingredients Fish Oil .............92.0%
Emulsifiers..........3.0%
