hello, i recently ordered a grow light from you guys, and have some issues that i would like to be resolved. im a member of popular plant growing forum with over 60,000 members and counting. i ordered from you guys, despite the fact that there were several people there who claimed that HTGSupply sold lights far cheaper then anyone else because "they sell used and refurbished ballasts and other parts". i rebuked those claims, thinking you guys had really hooked me up. however, when i hooked up my light, and started really checking it out, i noticed several things that were a little peculiar. for instance, there are many paint chips, scuffs, scratches and dirt smears all over the unit. especially in places where the panels can be removed and are out of sight. the ballast panel also has a stripped screw. the ballast itself has dirt on it that has obviously been accumulated over time, and there are some kinks on the unit, which obviously means it has had some abuse. the glass protector is chipped on many, if not all sides. And twice already, for no apparent reason, the unit has made loud clicking and humming noises and then, would suddenly shut down, and wouldnt power back up until i unplugged it and let it cool for a little while. grow lights should not do that. i checked the quality control sticker, and it is dated may of 07. that means this light is over a year old. when the light is running normally, it seems to me that it makes more noise then it should. i went to a local hydroponics store where they had several grow lights, and none of them buzzed half as much as the unit i received. im very disappointed that i received a used light, that has had some abuse and heavy usage. how am i supposed to be confident in my grow light and its performance? how am i to know for sure if this is a light that is working to its full potential? this is also a problem because my garden has already sprouted, and im sure the plants will die once i have to ship this used light back, and it will be quite upsetting when my garden that i have worked so hard on has to die because of an issue like this...i have not yet told those on the forum about my findings, as i wanted to email you guys first so you can have an opportunity to give your side of the story and offer a solution to the problem. one thing that surly is not disputed about your company is your exceptional customer service, i hope to see that this is the case with me and my problem as well. i have faith that this can become a favorable situation for both parties, because if the outcome is to my liking, i will surly write about it in a very positive way on my forum, and will preach you guys as the best of the best, and you will have earned a life-long customer. thanks and hope to hear from you soon.
