BIG SALE for CREE CXB 3590 LED GROW LIGHTS

I have a feeling this thread is becoming a testing ground for what bullshit claims they will or won't get away with. So many "mistakes" and "revisions" on their product pages... They come here and find out what educated growers think of their marketing schemes (scams), and then adjust as necessary. I noticed it in another thread last week, when the specs on their site changed in the short time between posts on that thread. Whether they're using legit components or not, I wouldn't deal with a company that has to be outed in order to give accurate information.

Of course not, the total lumens of 320W is around 42000lms, even a 600w full white led light that only output 80000-90000 lms, LED can't beat HID lamp in lumen output comparison, but in efficacy and energy saving, otherwise led is unnecessary to exist on market :)
 
Ok, as long as we live in the same reality. As you said +-300W should be good for 45 to 50k lumens... of course this only affects how bright it seems to our eyes.
But my instincts tell me that if I have two lights putting down an equal number of photons, the one with most of them in the usable spectrum, is going to have an advantage.
You start adding that to the 10 or 20 lumen per Watt these LEDs output on top of the 140 to 150 HID would, and it starts holding some long term logic.

Of course one is still in 3 or 4 times what an HID system would have cost.

My systems indicate that you can roughly cover about 8 to 10 square feet for every 300W with last gen LEDs

LED is directional light source, and HID is diffused light source, in regular commercial lighting application like street lighting, tunnel lighting, people need to test the lux readings at different height and point to compare with traditional HID, that's more realistic talk about the comparison between led and hid in brightness, as for grow lighting, actually there is still no standard parameter to make comparison between led and hid, as different companies have different spectrum, PPFD and PPF values may help a lot, but that doesn't mean one led light with the same PPF values as HID can produce the same yields. There are still a lot of work to do...

wow...five or theree years ago, that's not bad...but for now, I guess we can make more updates on this 300w light to produce better yields :)

IDK, their new diode bars state 2.7 umol/j so even if they r really 2.0 that's still comparable.
I replaced 440w T-5's with 100w Horizon strip lights @ 170 lm/w & they more then equal the T-5 in output.
So if they're product is what it claims to be or even close, using Osram or Samsung effectively, the 150w bar could easily exceed a 400w HPS in output. NP.
I feel many of you r knocking this dude cuz they r known as a crappy Chinese knock off comp. That doesn't mean they cant step up their game.
They prob started off knowing very little about what we need, but copying companies that do & listening to customers reviews/suggestions could have easily brought them to the point of quality & efficiency.
Being a Chineese Comp. They r able to source components & labor much cheaper then us. Hence the decent pricing.
Idk, after looking at their new diode bar lights advertised here that r also out by several other China companies using lower quality parts then these guys r claiming to use. They may just be doing something right.?.?.?

There is. Just not many vendors here use it. Saw it the other day for the first time. Mostly seed vendors.

Many of you bought it along with all the DIY to back it when plc made that claim. Which isn't to far off as far as output when driven around 50% of a cobs total rated capacity. Which would be 75w for a 3590 right?
600w HPS is more along the lines of 50-60,000 Lumens if i remember correctly w/o checking.
This comp may not have the poeples trust. & has bounced their name & offerings around a bit. Prob contridicts themselves at times. Cob info is well known by now though, so I'm surprised many here are having such selective memory?
 
Maybe at the end of its life, but they are the most efficient of the old HID bulbs. With 140 to 150 lm per Watt being pretty standard.
A 400W is in the 40000 range.

Think, 1.3-.5 just doesn't line up with 150.
 
SWIM is in the market for four x 300W true output COB grow lights. 4 total light COB fixtures. SWIM was planning on purchasing the ~$115 COB lights from Amazon.

If I can respectfully ask, how are these different?
