BigOleNug's 1480w QB corner (Perpetual grow)

Hello fellow growers,
Welcome to my grow journal. A little info on myself before I begin. I have a couple years of growing under my belt but almost all of that was done under 600w/1000w MH/HPS lighting. I grew in soil back then and didnt really have to finances to do things properly. All of this occurred during 2012-13. I took a 5 year hiatus and recently got back into growing in Dec 2018.

I decided that this time around I would really invest in this hobby because even with all my issues in 2012-13, I was able to get some really high quality bud. So I did my research. I have since grown out one entire round under quantum boards. I still had alot to learn during that grow and only achieved about 240g for 3 plants under 600w of qb96s.... I made alot of mistakes and I think learned from them.

Now lets get to today, I now have a perpetual garden running:

4x4 tent for veg with 2x qb288v2s powered by a HLG-240H driver
8x4 tent for flowering that is outfitted with two sets of 4x qb96s. One set is powered by a HLG-600H driver and the other set is powered by 2x HLG-320H drivers.
Running in a coco/perlite 60/40 mix.
Advanced nutrients sensi line
2 transplants from solo cup to 2gal, 2gal to 7gal fabric pots.

Genetics:

In flowering:
Critical Daddy Purple day 18F
Holy Grail Kush day 18F
Green Crack day 4F

In Veg:
Triple Cheese
C99
Ethos Banana Hammock
Kosher kush
2x Tasty Waves x Bosleys Angels
Green Crack clone (not rooted yet)
Chemdawg clone (not rooted yet)

I mainline most of my plants so I will be regularly posting pics of plants that are in the middle of HST and these plants are not going to be pretty, the training wire isnt going to be made all pretty, I am here to help people learn, to learn myself and to grow some killer bud. My last concern is how pretty my plants look, if looks matter to you, please keep your opinions to yourself.

Heres some pics of my garden. None of these pics will be from today, lights are currently out. But they will be recent atleast.

A bit of info I left out. Also have an RO system for water. Waa using distilled up until this week when I finally ordered this system. Ppms in the RO water sit around 8-15ppm. Almost pure

Welcome! Yeah, I am really diggin the quantum boards :)
Yeah same, I only have the 132vs's but I am space limited so only in a 3x3. I haven't grown in over 20yrs so I did a shit load of research and went with the qb's. My motto is. If you're going to do something do it properly and research.:):)

Definitely, this is a very complicated hobby when you are trying to get the most out of it. My first round back was a big learning experience. I really fried my plants during veg with my qb96s. They were very small going into flower.

This round has been much much better. The qb288s are much gentler on small plants and I learned alot more about ppfd between grows.

Here's an update on my current grow.

I did the initial cuts for the manifolds on 3 of my plants the last couple days. You can see them here.

The one pictured is Ethos' Banana Hammock. I decided to take a cutting and put it in some wet coco to see if it roots. I also topped the crap out of my wacky kosher kush clone on the upper left of the first pic.

Took a few stem shots of my 3 girls in flower.

First one is my crit. daddy purp that I accidentally split in half and has repaired itself. Second is the holy grail kush. Both of these are at day 18F. The last one is my green crack plant thats at day 5F. She could possibly be a he, shes showing some weird looking calyxes but I am still leaning female right now. Got plenty of days to figure it out before I am in any danger so yeah. We will see soon.

Last pics are just a couple close ups of the two oldest girls. Crit daddy purp is first, then holy grail kush.

Very different mix of sativa/indica on these girls. Super excited to see what they do, they are both growing really well and have tons of budsites. Gonna need to defoliate again in a week or so. It grew back most of its canopy in just 4 days since I did a deep defoliation.

Update:
Things are lookinh a bit different since last week.
Veg tent is less crowded and it looks like all my clones have rooted. I do a very barebones cloning technique: stab the cutting into a solo cup of coco and water daily with light nutrient mix. No cloning gel, no bubble cloner, not even a humidity dome. I only do it this way to allow for some time before the clones start growing. I dont want to over crowd my space with new clones right now. Heres a pic:

I transplanted my triple cheese plant this week and put her into flowering 3 days ago. My green crack plant is slowly transitioning to flower. Not alot of pistils showing yet but its definitely building its flowering structure. I defoliated yesterday. Pic:

My oldest girls are doing great. Today is day 24 from switch. These pics were taken on day 23 (tents are closed right now). Just did a secons defoliation on them just to get more light to the lower budsites. Pics:

Been watering these two twice a day now in their 7gal pots. They drink ALOT.

Looking good mate. What is the green thing In that one pot ?

Nothing more than a drip shield thats meant to be part of an entire auto-drip system. I plan on getting the remaining pieces eventually but for now they just help protect my coco from getting valleys while watering and they do a good job of giving me even waterings. Check out floraflex if you want to learn more about it.
