Biochar in super soil

Is there any any reason not to add biochar to super soil? And do you charge it first before mixing into super soil? Or no need to charge as cooking/composting soil will charge it?

My recipe

6.0 Cubic Ft. Super Soil Kit Contents

• 1.25 lb. - 20 oz. Fish Bone Meal 3-16-0
• 1.25 lb. -20 oz. Granular Bone Meal 2-14-0
• 2.5 lb. - 40 oz. Bat Guano 0-7-0
• 1.25 lb. -20 oz. Blood Meal 13-0-0
• 1.25 lb. - 20 oz. Feather Meal 12-0-0
• 1.5 lb. Colloidal Rock Phosphate
• 3/8 cup Epsom Salt
• 1/4 cup Sweet Lime (Dolomite)
• 1/4 cup Azomite (67 Trace Elements)
• 1/4 cup Kelp Powder 0-0-17
• 1/4 cup Mycorrhizal Fungi (300 spores per gram)
• 1 tbsp. Powdered Humic Acid (90%Pure)
• 4 tsp. Potash Sulfate 0-0-53

Plus main soil base, worm castings, biochar, pumice


Any advice would be much appreciated

Ok after reading more on this forum looks like I took the wrong approach(my bad) instead of going with subs super soil, can I use the mixed ingredients at say 1/4 strength when I attempt to build my organic soil, or would It be better to responsibly dispose of the mix and start a fresh, I have 4 packs with the following mixed ingredients

.625 lb. Fish Bone Meal 3-16-0

.625 lb. Hi Phos Bat Guano 0-7-0

.625 lb. Blood Meal 13-0-0

.375 lbs. Rock Phosphate

1/16 cup Kelp Powder 0-0-17

3/32 cup Epsom Salt

1/16 cup Sweet Lime (Dolomite)

1/16 cup Azomite (67 Trace Elements)

1/16 cup Mycorrhizal Fungi (300 spores per gram)

3/4 tsp. Powdered Humic Acid 90% Pure

If you don’t charge biochar it will absorb nutrients from the soil. You may have enough nutrients in your mix that it would not be an issue.
I made a slurry mix with homemade biochar and nitrogen based fertilizer and water.
It made the biochar easier to break down from chunks to pellet size.

I wouldn’t throw out such a nice mix. If you think it’s too hot, just mix in more soil base.
If you are going to throw it out, I have a spot you can dump it, lol.

Lol thanks for the reply and info, I was thinking what if I made the super soil as per instructions then mix 1/4 super soil to 3/4 base mix, instead of layering full strength at the bottom 1/3, don't know if that's been tried before, I'll try and figure it out
