OMFG! To go through what he did all those years! Got sucked off a plane and landed on a haystack, and drove off a cliff and landed on a tree. That guy is fucking lucky. I don't think anybody is as lucky as him, he deserves the million dollar lottery!View attachment 2092421I would not want to travel with this man. . . .
Oh those wacky whimsical Austrians.VIENNA — An unemployed Austrian man on Monday deliberately sliced off his left foot with a mechanical saw and threw it into an oven ahead of a health check on whether he was fit to work, police said. When police arrived the "desperate" 56-year-old from Mitterlabill in southern Austria was still conscious but had lost a lot of blood, local police chief Franz Fasching told AFP.
He was airlifted to hospital in Graz where his condition was said to be stable.
The man had mounted the mitre saw on two stools in his boiler room using nails and removed the guard plate before slicing off the foot above the ankle and around 5:00 am (0300 GMT). Emergency services "looked in the oven and were able to recover the foot ... The foot was taken the hospital but it was so badly burned that it cannot be sewn back on," Fasching said.
Wow... Is unemployment that good in Austria or is the job market that bad? ::sigh::
The bear must have been well-fed. Of the animals in the scene, the bear would know how to get the wrap off the little cheese dish.Man saved from lion attack by bear during hike from hell
69-year-old Robert Biggs says he was rescued from an attacking mountain lion by a bear during a recent hike in Northern California. The fun started when Biggs paused to observe a mother bear with her new cub, and a mountain lion suddenly sprang on him, sinking four claws into his backpack and part of his arm. As Biggs tried to subdue the mountain lion with his rock pick, the mother bear jumped into the fray, tearing at the lion until it ran off. Biggs speculates he had interrupted the mountain lion as it hunted the baby cub, allowing him to walk away from the scene despite being the weakest in the pile up and basically the equivalent of a Lunchable for either
Ruined the story.....Elderly woman with no flight training lands runaway plane

An 80-year-old woman with no flight experience successfully landed a plane after her pilot husband fell unconscious. The unnamed couple had been flying in a twin-engine Cessna over Wisconsin when the man fell ill with an undisclosed condition. His passenger wife channeled her inner Earhart, took over the controls, and landed the aircraft with the assistance of a certified pilot flying alongside her. To add to the drama in the skies, the right engine ran out of fuel and lost power while she was attempting her virgin landing. Door County Sheriff Terry Vogel said he was "very proud" of her actions in a "difficult situation." Sadly, her husband was later pronounced dead on the ground.
I know. Sad isn't it.Ruined the story.....
Yup... a well-fed bear is a happy, friendly bear.... But getting them not to turn up at inopportune moments or move out again might be difficult. Most people consider dogs to be man's best friend, but 69 year-old Robert Biggs of Paradise may think otherwise after he says he was saved from a mountain lion attack by a mother bear. It happened Monday morning while Biggs was on a hike in the Bean Soup Flat area near Magalia. He came across the bear and her cub, but as Biggs continued along the trail he got an unexpected surprise. Biggs says he was bent over and going up the trail when something jumped on his back and knocked him to his knees. When he turned around he saw that it was a mountain lion. That's when the mountain lion reportedly climbed on top of Biggs, forcing him to fight for his life.
"I had the rock pick in my right hand and I come around and swing it and hit it in the side of the head and it made a big screeching sound. And I come back to swing again and just as I get about halfway there I see a dark figure grabbing the neck of the mountain lion and just tearing it down to the ground below me," says Biggs.
According to Biggs, the bear and lion fought for a few seconds before the cat was able to get away. The bear then continued down the trail followed by her cub. Although Biggs wasn't particularly shaken up by the attack, his wife Suzanne was concerned when she saw his injuries.
"He came home this time with blood all over his pants. His arm, he had skin hanging off his arm. He had these puncture wounds and scratches and stuff. It scares me. I'm worried you know that if he goes down there he might not come back," she said.
But her husband didn't seem to share that fear, saying, "I'm sure the bear was trying to save me because the way it was looking at me just 2 minutes before I was standing there watching her and she was looking at me like we were old friends."
Biggs says the next day he went back to the Bean Soup Flat area to try and find the bear and mountain lion, but was unsuccessful in tracking them down.
It's usually just a question of asking nicely enough. cnYup... a well-fed bear is a happy, friendly bear.... But getting them not to turn up at inopportune moments or move out again might be difficult.
I know I have withdrawn my allegiance to this product, but still somehow I can't avoid shedding a tear. cn(Newser) – Apparently it's going to take more than a couple of governors chowing on a burger to save pink slime: AFA Foods, a leading manufacturer of "boneless lean beef trimmings," today filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, citing a steep drop-off in demand for its products. AFA will this week suspend operations at a California plant, reports the Wall Street Journal, and had previously struggled before a plan to return to profitability "was quickly undermined by market forces beyond the debtors' control," according to court documents.
"Almost all retail grocery stores have succumbed to public pressure to reduce or eliminate the sale of products containing BLBT, as well as public requests to prominently label products containing BLBT," said AFA. As a result, instead of the boost normally provided by the beginning of barbecue season, sales slumped. AFA has $56 million in financing to see it through Chapter 11 proceedings.
If someone can explain to me how it's different from mechanically separated chicken, maybe I'll go against it. Sure it sounds gross, but then again if they came out and told you how HALF of what you eat was made you'd probably sick up a bit (And yeah, you self-righteous organic pushing people, we know you think yours is awesome.). I'm just saying, if you're screaming to pull pink slime, you better check your chicken nuggets at the door, because they're every bit as disgustingly made.I know I have withdrawn my allegiance to this product, but still somehow I can't avoid shedding a tear. cn
I was RIU's staunchest defender of Lean Finely-textured Beef, until I read a taste test of burgers "with" and "without". The burgers "with" had *very* inferior flavor and texture. That is what ruined it for me. In McNuggets, they have the option of adding an amazing variety of the very flower of food chemistry ... to correct flavor and texture issues. Oh an' they fry'em. Deep fat redeems so much. cnIf someone can explain to me how it's different from mechanically separated chicken, maybe I'll go against it. Just because polar bears need a layer of blubber to keep warm doesn't mean everyone does. Some of us are more tropical...for instance, I'm in Wisconsin...tropical for some.I was RIU's staunchest defender of Lean Finely-textured Beef, until I read a taste test of burgers "with" and "without".
