Black Dream grow. Need help to get my skills inproved.

Ok. I have grown maybe a handful of plants. I always mess up the dry cure portion. During the grow I do things because I think it will help. Reading many newbie sections in here. I want and need a really good finished product. Growing for my own medicine. I need it bad for pain. Doctors can't get me what I need and want. So I'm in the closet making a real solution to my issues. I'm a pretty sick a disabled person. I have found this plant is what could give me a satsfying life. Do I use my meds to get stoned or high. Well yes who doesn't. Sometimes an escape from my many troubles and pain is much needed.

I currently have my seedlying breaking ground today. If you are willing to help I welcome it. My issues are to find when the best length of time to veg before i switch to flower. I give it 2 or 3 months. I don't know if that is to long. If it will work I would love to do just 30 days of veg. I have the jewelers loop. I usually pull the plant with a few light amber trichs. A few that are clear and a few milky. I butch up the dry and the cure. That is the place I need help and suggestions as well. I use CFL's for light. I know there is lots of better light sources out there. I like the CFLs. So yes changing that could help. I just want to stick to the CFLs. Money funds is low for changes there.

I grow in a 4 foot by 4 foot square closet. I have almost 6 feet tall space for the plants to stretch into. I have a top shelf that I seperated from the bottom. I use that for clones or trying to grow a mother plant. I have a 4 to 5 foot tall area there. CFLs are used to grow the clones. I don't have a cloner. Right now affordability to get more grow stuff is not there.

My plant will end up in a 5 gallon bucket with many holes in the bottom for drainage. It is currently in a beer cup. It is just breaking ground right now. After the 3rd node grows i tipically will put in the 5 gallon pot. I hang my CFLs in power bars turned upside down on chains. That is so I can raise the lights to keep them close enough to the plant. I know it needs 4 to 6 inches above the plant.

Any help I would really love. You can post it on my grow journal. That will have the help were needed. The length of this from help doesn't bother me at all. I just want to start over and learn how to do my crop right. Thank you everybody. I love you guys here in RIU. In the past I always got the best info from this place.

06/21/16 seed in dirt in Beer cup. Top shelf under 2 100w cfl.
06/22/16 Breaking ground. Soil still nice a moist. Potting soil with great drainage.

IMO, you would be better off growing smaller plants with CFL's. Veggin for 3 months and then flowering in a 5 gallon pot with CFL's is a lot of work for a smaller return. I use T5's (unwound cfl's lol) and veg for 4~5 weeks, use 1 and 2 gallon pots (depending on intent of grow) and keep the plants under 3 feet. The one grow I did here with CFL's (was many years ago) got an oz and a half off a 22 inch tall plant with just 97 watts of light (actual)

Thank you very much. I do know about T5s. If I get extra funds I will look into getting a bank of T5s. I currently have 12 CFLs. Near the end i use all 12 and have them all around the plant.

Your grow sounds great. I will try the 5 weeek veg. That will cut off 1 to 2 months off my grow time I like that idea a lot. Dry and cure. I will remember RM3.

Actually they do as MJ is about to go federally legal for medical. The news was leaked not long ago that it will be rescheduled from a 1 to a 2 making it a prescription drug. The DEA announced yesterday that they already have the FDA initiative. Unfortunately they intend to kill recreational in the process.

Thank you. I wasn't aware of that. I knew a schedule change was going to be made. I just didn't think that would have much impact on the real issue of getting it to patients. I'm on a schedule 4 drug right now. I know about the things that are different when the drug is a scheduled drug. Paper scripts only. Limitations on refill and time between refills highly watched. So that is cool. I think my plant will be done before 1 of my doctors can write me the RX for it. I know my pain management doctors job will be made easier. My migraine doctor will be happy. My fybromiagia doctor will be happy. My psychiatrist job will be a little easier. That is how wide spread this effects me.

Thank you for the link. The part about trying to make THC and CBD synthetically is not a full solution. I hope that part will change. CBD is legally available to vape in all 50 states right now. www.cloud9hemp.com
If they aprove the plant they can use all of it to change products like paper and clothes.
I do the CBD vape. It is nice and relaxing. Pain still there. That movement is huge compared to others so far.

All I can really say is, in my opinion, 2 -3 months veg is wasted time unless you're filling huge pots under strong lights. There are some great threads on here that help with the drying and curing bits, although to be honest mine all got smoked before it had chance to cure! It is proper dry here, hard to get hold of anything worth smoking right now where I am in the UK, don't know where we're at on getting it medically cos they're all too busy arguing about immigration and the EU right now but I really wish they'd get on with it. Cannabis has replaced my antidepressants, it's helped me reduce my methadone script, it's saved me from taking extra opiates and benzos to manage my pain because I do not want to take them with my history but the doctors don't have anything else to offer and treat me like I'm trying to swindle painkillers out of them and the only weed I can get hold of is absolute crap usually, off gobshite kids who have no idea about proper weed, just worry about bag appeal... It's all very frustrating, sorry for ranting but I wish you the very best of luck with your grow!

Thank you for your post and rant. I never bought from somebody. I'd rather smoke good stuff I grew with white mold in it. After each puff you need to swallow lots of water. First time somebody said reggie weed to me I thought they were talking about a person. I never knew skunk smelled like a real skunk till my neighbors started using it. I thought skunk was a designation of strong cheap weed. His skunk is like a skunk exploded in my living room. Can't wait till he smells my girl. The profile says sweet and spicy. It will blow that poor guys mind. He can keep his skunk. I'm on a benzo for my depression. Klonopin. When I first got on it I was high for days without stop. It was funny as hell. Now its just normal.

I'm just going to veg a month. Hoping the stretch will make up for it. By veging that long I got 4 to 5 foot monsters. Everybody is saying I'm wasting time. I need relief sooner so I will do just a month. If plant size at end is smaller than previous grows I will need to veg longer. As I said I'm goofing things up because of my problems. So I just need it and fast. I've had to much that was just dried. I want the cure taste. I know some will just be dried to hard and used right away. I just want to experience the change a good cure brings to it.

For smaller CFL Grows :

Veg up to 12" tall then flip , based on breeder info , this plant will double in size.
Because CFL has much poorer penetration than other lights you can still supplement with side lighting ( cfl ) to help lower shadowy areas.

Look for at least 3-4 bulbs per plant. ( example : 4 x 23 watt ) or better.
Keep them around 3 gallon pots. Any larger is a waste unless you have the lights to fully make use of it.

This would fit your grow space just fine.

Autos are great for " self meds " ( personal yields ) and are available in higher CBD strains. Sizes can be at or around 36" when flowering. And they are pretty much " plug and play " .... A good premium soil can carry it ( without additional feedings ) up to week 6. After that you can introduce some bloom feeding ( for bud building ) during this critical time then feed her water at end .

Your choice of seed / strain doesnt show the CBD content , so not sure if pain management is in the cards , but only u will be able to answer that
This is a sativa dominate strain ( cerebral high ). I may have to try this ... Haha

There are a shit load of breeders that can guide you to something more to your liking.

It states 45-50 day flower ( 7 week ) BUT since it is sativa , i would say that estimate is maybe too soon. Plus CFL grows mature a little later than other light grows.

This Auto Bubblegum is just to show you how compact a plant can be with CFL.



Now the best part .... These bulbs were at the 99¢ store for 59¢ each .
I bought 25 and have them stocked up. Mix up your CFL ( daylight - bright white and warm white ) for your grow.

Thank you. I vape as well and have CBD vape. So if I need some I can vape it as well. I figured I really need just some CBD THC and CBN to get me good again. I'm growing a 50/50 hybrid. I have a bunch of seeds from when I could afford to buy them. They have been air and light sealed for a while. Just like the seed that broke ground today they are still good. I think I found the wrong defintion for my seed based on what you told me. My packages are from a stealth ship. Very nondescript. I remember this being 50/50. Honestly I think any of them can kill pain. I have had indica dom before. It helped just was a thing before bed mostly. I know I have a sativa dom in one of those bags. This one I was almost certain it was a 50/50. Only the leaves will tell now. If thats what I have growing I really can't wait now. Thank you.

06/23/16 Alien head is 1 inch above soil. Breaking open to show coddling leaves starting to unroll.

The will to live is very present. This little lady is starting out nice. After reading the definition a bit more. Found out this plant is strong in the areas that I have problems with. Temperature, Moisture, mold, most insect pests. Requires medium amouts of nutes. Great for the first time grower. I'm going to clone a mother of this plant. She meets my needs in smell and taste area. I know dank is considered a good thing. I just can't handle to dank of an odor. Kills my head. With a spicy sweet earthy smell. That is A1 on my list. I don't usually have this much growth 2 days after seed in soil. If I didn't know better I would say it was a male. One of the qualities was vigorous growth. There is much vigor in my cup. Can't wait to set it free in the big pot.
