the exact reason i deprive them of my presence on occasions like this.no respect for themselves, let alone anyone else...peace
That's a great idea. We draw names and do a gift exchange .... but the kiddies still get hooked up.We are now in year 3 without giving gifts. We agreed as an extended family not to do gifts. Instead we get together and enjoy each other and splurge more on the food and drinks and such.
Forgot to mention the kids, yup, they get hooked up doing otherwise would be heartbreaking. I thought I would miss the exchanging of gifts, instead we seem to get more fun watching the kids. The youngest one last year seemed more interested in the box than the gift. That's a great idea. We draw names and do a gift exchange .... but the kiddies still get hooked up.
My hubby is one of 9. So it was easy to back off of even picking names when you consider that the kids are having kids and the circle continues to grow larger and larger. That's a great idea. We draw names and do a gift exchange .... but the kiddies still get hooked up.
My hat off to you guys While my parents still insist on small gifts for the reason of the thought, I can't persuade them otherwise, last year I asked for two balls of wool, not sure what for this year. I can't stand this notion of iPads and whatnot as Christmas presents. I visit the family to see them, not get shit off them. I don't buy gifts, I give them. I setup age of empires 2 on 3 laptops to give me and my brothers a geeky but enjoyable stress free moment to bond again away from our stressful lives, and spent boxing day evening cooking up dinner for the family. Would be so much easier just to buy them that PlayStation game or such/ but that's not what its about.the video of the Nike shoe rioting is the one I still remember most, crazy people!!We are now in year 3 without giving gifts.
