I've recently setup some seeds for germination and they've turned a black color... A darkish green. Is this a sign of rotting? I disse Ted one subject and the embryo looked fine, as far as I know. Is this normAl?
i would be willing to say they are junk man sorry. How long have they been germing for?I am using the paper towel method.
7 hrs ...lol thats like watching a pan of water trying to boil. keep the paper towel moist not soaking wet but moist. put it in a tuberware container and throw them in a dark spot like a draw. check on them in 24 hrs if they havent popped check on them in another 24 hrs and if they havent popped by then give it another 24 hrs and start worrying if they havent popped on the 3rd day. its gonna take longer if you keep playing with them. growing takes alot of patience....good luckI'm making a good guess of about 7hours. About two of them as I said have begun to show little cracks with an impression ofba taproot I just find it odd for them to change color so quickly.
take them out of the heating blanket. and do what i said in the my last postI've just rea somewhere that the darker the color the more"meatier" the seed is... I hope this is the case. I've got them in a case w/ paper towels, an I've got that surrounded by a thin cloth. I've place it on a heat blanket for warmth. We want humididty right? And I've also read that you can't realy over soak seeds, you just need to transplant as soon as the tap emerges.
