Black Stem Mold?

Had this problem last year and just found again. The mold starts grey and dusty looking and darkens to black. Mold starts in a crotch or above internode and completly incircles branch or stem. The mold starts low on the plant, eventually moving up and into bud stems, obviously destroying bud. Also kills plant by destroying outer stem tissue.
Last year tried Serenade, but it was too late. Mold pretty much ruined all plants that had it. Found mold approx. 6 weeks into flowering. Interestingly had several varieties and it only attacked Purple Kush.
This year I caught early. Only on one plant. Thank God, this mold is mean. I cut out branch and used baking soda paste on stem and have sprayed entire crop with Serenade. Plan to use weekly even if I do not see more mold.
Plants are on drip and straw mulch. East Bay, CA
Any help or suggestions appreciated

Serenade is good if the problem is out of control, but it's very strong and can burn your leaves bad

Your mold has to be a product of excess moisture/humidity

Treating your plants/soils with hydrogen peroxide will help fight mold, mildew, & disease and is your cheapest option

If they are small enough to where you can build a grow tent over, that will prevent rain and whatnot to hit the buds/plant and hopefully reduce moisture that is causing these problems

Unfortunately I have already had this problem, it's probably charcoal rot, it's a real pain in the ass and will infect even the biggest plants, heat stress causes it, I lost 3 nice ladies to it last year, this year I have two small infections that I'm really worried about, treated them with hydrogen peroxide, so far so good but the "stain" is still visible, hope this gives you some insight, I think that this will become a more common problem, it devastates soybean and hemp crops :(

Don't think this is the same. This mold bands completely around branch or stem. Plus weather here in CA has been unseasonable cool.
Thanks for the reply. I have not found much info on what this could be or how to prevent/treat. Hopefully, I won't need this year...

This shit is heartbreaking to hear... especially as we all near the harvest. Is this the same as the boytrytis mold you PM'd me about?

i just culled a plant that i grew under led and flourescents and hid sodium. i couldn't see the colors because of the led but when i got the plant out in the light it looked all black from stalk to buds and leaves. figured it was some kind of fungus or mould. there were large whitish masses at the nodes.
