I have been happy with coco coir in my opinion best of both worlds(yes I agree if you use soil w/ all organics the outcome will be more rewarding in the taste/smell but from what I have learned I get pretty damn close to the taste and smell to soil with proper care taken to achieve this but the added speed and weight of hydro.

I chose Canna Coco coir w/ 35% perlite (make sure you pre flush with 5.5 to 5.6ph water with 10 to 0 ppm,remember) at this time I just use two 5 gallon water container from your local water supply or Wally world( I try my best to shop other than Wally world aka war-mart)





They are starting to get hungry



after feeding of 420ppm .5 ec I prefer ec vs ppm my blue lab read 500 not 700 so 1200ppm reading is 2.5 on ec this is not good always use EC for its is always accurate.
I use Advanced nutrients(Have had great success in past with this company)use there nutrient calculater





This is not good 81f 35% humidity must make adjust to get to or below 75f and humidity to 50% to 60%







Growing new strains in coco come with some work normally you would think the yellowing,darkening or spots are the normal nitro,phos or potas def. you normally see but with coco it is either medium ph problem not low enough around 5.6 to 5.8 or a calcium def. I use cal-mag follow normal feeding if it persist then us aggressive remember this is hyrdo do not use to much. 4 to 6 days later they get much better.


different strains react different to coco so always check the medium PH I do not use ph down accelerater like the two option you can sprinkle on soil I prefer to use 5.5 ph water and till I get a run off ph of 5.9 to 6.0 this is still .2 to high but since the plants are in pots I use this to limit root issues and stress

I use Canna Coco coir from my experience I get best of both world (with special care ofcourse) I can get close to org soil taste/smell with that added quickness of bulk of hydro,again my opinion(I love soil but have become fond of Coco).
Canna Coco coir mix 35% perlite.



Remember always flush very well with pure chlorine/TDS free water at 5.5 to 5.6 ph,again remember coconuts are by the ocean and receive lots and lots of salt showers Canna does a good job of getting the salts down but due to mass production I like to flush to remove any extra salts plus+ this brings medium PH down to a level the plants will absorb there nutrients.



Since I am using new strains.I like to let them get a little hungry here so I know from the get go im not over feeding(again some signs in coco are not the same as Soil or Hyrdro,later I will explain

Ok now that they are getting hungry I now know that they have used up what food they had from seeds and rooting cubes(clonex dome).

0.5 EC or 420ppm(I normally do not use ppm reading, for my Bluelab meter reads in 500 incr. and not 700 you will get into trouble by over feeding everytime,I prefer EC reading as this is always exact giving your calibrated right"always calibrate instruments every 3 to 4 weeks")

I follow the Advanced Nutrients calculater for VEG with 2 part grow calculate for 4.9 gallons.I follow this until before cloning.After I clone from Mothers then I follow the there Mother feeding schedule with 2 part grow.

AND YES I do USE everything they recommend + Cal-Mag.(I hear all the time It COST SO MUCH MONEY.Here is how I look at it: One: They are the only company to say that there product is for Cannabis. Two: I have been VERY SUCCESSFUL with there INSTRUCTIONS I mean 2lbs + with one 1000w HPS in 4x4 Flood and drain so yes I will spend the extra $200 to increase my YIELD and my FLAVOR.(always flush last 7 to 10 days and I use unrefined sugar,fermented molasses or pure honey from local hive.the taste is unreal with one of these).

DO NOT GET CHEAP HERE.Your plants will love what it needs and not what it gets....
OK LOOK at it this way.Yes you can workout,Jog,hike whatever your fix for health now you can do this while eating McDonalds and get only so big,healthy and get just enough nutrients for you body to live,but in the end you will develop bad health years down the road,VS if you eat fresh Hormone,Antibiotic and pestiside free food that is full of the nutrients for your body to heal to fight disease,cancer and all the bad conditions our polluted world gives us.

Here is something for the MIND.(I love to drink Coke Cola and Dr Pepper)did you know it takes 32 Glasses of ( 9PH ) water to reverse the acidic effect of one can of coke.If you plants are so sinsetive to PH level.then you Body will be no different.Ok I know Im preaching now but if you use Coke cola to corrode calcium of battery cable (calcium it eats it) and the docs cannot understand why ARTHRITIS is on the rise,what do you need for your bones to grow strong CALCIUM...So take care of your Body(temple) as you do your plants and you will love the rewards.

78f and 37% hum. this needs to be addressed now never above 75 f and atleast 50% to 60% hum. I must adjust issues in room to address this problem now NOT later.

My room is only 13' x 13' So all I need for humidity is a $40 humidifier from Walgreens.I like the ultra sonic over motorized units due to bacteria build up between the fins of motor and areas that are hard to clean this is not the case with the ultra sonic version very easy to clean also I have paid close attention to see if the Ultrasonic Freq would effect plants I have NOT notice a problem.

From what I have learned with Coco.When you look at your def. it is normally not the same as when I grew in soil or hydroton.normally you will find you have Nitrogen,Phos or Potass. So normally you would add more Marconuts this is not the case most of the time..
With coco you must check medium for proper PH. This is common that your PH will rise So I always water well with 5.5 to 5.6 ph water once you have eliminated a PH medium issue then the next problem is CALCIUM and sometimes Magnesium.I use CAL-MAG follow regular feeding instruction always use a little less never more,after this feeding it will take 4 to 6 days to notice a change.



Different strains react different so pay close attention Log in your Journal so you do not have any surprises during cloning.




Again these are not signs of normal Marconute DEFICIENCY use Cal-Mag

This is how I get rid of unwanted foliage.I do not like to cut I try to mimic nature as much as possible so I lightly touch/brush against dying foliage if it falls of easy then the stem is not attached well and will not provide proper nutrients. I lightly tug on ones that appear to be dying that do not brush off kinda like an animal rubbing up against the plant.





This one came off VERY easy normally a leaf still this green would stay but do to low lumens at the lowers leaves cause slow and retarded (backward not DERR) growth

I use this method to min STRESS.( has worked well for me)

Here they are getting big.
From now on I will watch very closely for males or hermaphrodites.even tho i purchased Fem seeds anything can happen.so for the next week or two I will be looking for her female sex organs if I see male sacks they must GO,GO,GO

AGAIN ALWAYS WATER with 5.5 to 5.6 PH water.
Now I am feeding at 1.9 ec when they begin to dry I just Water,when they dry I feed I repeat this till before cloning,I will foliar feed 24 hours before cloning.
Once I have cloned I will then follow the AN calculator for mother 2 part grow (still mixing in 4.9 gallons)so do the math and be exact DO NOT GET LAZY WHEN MIXING NUTES

These Girls are DANK I mean super dank for about 3 weeks now. When I wake up very strong since they emit more smell about 3hrs before the light kicks on(this is how I also determine the strongest smelling one"use a green light to work in the dark")I have really had to upgrade to two Ionizer for the house indoor I have had only two other strians in the last 4 yrs that started to smell this early..Greenhouse seeds Mazar and Great white shark and the new girls ALL OF THEM are stronger than Mazar and she was a STINKY, STINKY girl.I had unfortunate events happen last fall so I had to sell almost everything but my racecar, so I do not have my charcoal canisters anymore(and yes I know I should always have had my equipment before I start somethimes is does not work out so easy) as I am a DIY type guy I will build my own using medical grade charcoal from the pet store. I will update this when done.

In fall of 2006 I ordered Mazar,Great white shark and at that time they also had Master Kush unfortunately MK arrived open and non of the 10 fem seeds germ(disappointing it was) I will have to find the photos of of them I had to harvest 10 days early but still damn they where good and my 4 x 4 yield 1 3/4lb with the Mold Bucket type CO2 setup you can buy I was learning COCO coir at the time.

Yes I agree I will be upgrading to 3 gallon when the move to harvest and 4x4 FnD
(I have had great success with two gallons actually achieving 2lbs per 1000w)but I used more plants for this.
Since my Med licence ONLY allow 32oz and 99 plants I have to change my setup Less plants Bigger pots a little more time. same yield..
BUT and again BUT Im legal an think I will stay within the laws so I do not loose my licence,kiss-ass
