how many weeks of veg did you do and how tall were they?did you top them also?

my fem blackjacks are only 4 or 5 inches tall after 25 days in veg from seed.Is this normal and how tall should they be at flower starting time if I don't want them to get over 24".I grow indoors,soil,400w HPS/MH,fox farm nutes,My humidity level is way low between 10-25%.I've tried buckets of water,and a cheap humidifier neither did anything.Wondering if I start to flower these at day 29 after 11 weeks of flowering how tall will they be?I have 4-6 nodes and bushyness on 4"plants its weird,lol.They are so bushy i cant even see the main stem or branches,all i see is leaves.I removed the big most bottom leaves,they had browed some and were blocking the bottom nodes.This strain is so different then alot of pics I've seen with how tight the nodes are,others have 6" of stem before they get to the first node,my first node is 1/4"off the dirt.Any replies to my concerns and questions would be great.

That does seem a bit short, but tight nodes are good. Are you using a combo of HPS and MH? Humidity is quite low. What are your temps like? I use to live in a dry apartment, so I used bowls of water and I would sit them on the radiators around the house, this helped a lot. Do you spray the plants as well?

Hi Grow2, I topped mine twice. Blackjack keeps tight nods during veg, but don't be fooled, the not spacing increases in a big way ones you induce flower. You do not have a lot of head room, have you considered LST or a scrog?

My temps are 82-86 day time,kinda warm,im useing 400w switchable bulbs,so just the veg light for now,just added a 3' long florescant side light.I had tried buckets of water in the tent and it did nothing for the humidity ,i also bought a small humidifier and put it in the tent,and that did nothing also.I might try a different humidifier.I topped all my plants at 2 weeks,and it seemed to really slow the top growth down for the next 10-14 days.4 now have alot of top growth with 4 top shoots.,1 just has v shaped branches at the top.My tent is 5 feet tall by 4 feet long by 2 feet wide.I have 3 fans inside the tent blowing air,1 brings in cold air from outside,the other 2 just circulates the air inside.I have a charcoal filter and 175cfm exhaust fan for getting rid of hot air.The room temp that the tent is in is between 66-78 degrees.I live in a cold climate right now and the humidity is only 10%today in the tent,usually its 10-25%.My tallest plant is a smidge over 5" the other 4 are 4".I can not see the main stalk or branches at all,all i can see is green leaves from top to bottom.Even my lowest branch is 1/2" off the dirt.Using fox farm nutes. And yes I do spray the plants every day sometimes more then once just to give me something to do,and they look pretty when wet,lol..This is a soil grow using ocean forest soil and my first attempt at growing for myself.I havn't seen any talk on the yields blackjacks bring,I'm hoping my 5 plants (feminized)bring me 3/4 of a pound.Is this do able with this strain and say 4 weeks of vegging from seed?Since this is my first grow,im not looking to do LST yet,just want to get thru my first grow,i'd like them to get to 24-30"at harvest.

I hink if you flip them at about 10-12 inches you should be fine Grow2. I see a little ph issue (twisted new growth), that might be why they are a bit slow to grow, but I'm not a soil guy. Either way the leafs should be opening up more. I have the mom in promix at 5.8ph, mainly cause I feed her the nutes from my hydro res. I was sure I was not going to get away with it, but knock on wood, so far so good.
As to yield, I would not worry too much about that mate. Just keep in mind that every problem you have during the entire grow will reduce yield in the end.

there is definatly twisted new growth,i noticed it yesterday.I really f'd myself caus i tried to help it uncurl itself and it was one of the colas on the top and i must of been too rough caus later that day it was all shriveled up and i saw that its stem was more then half cut in half and it was dieing so i had to remove it.Dam that pissed me off,loosing a cola like that,will another one grow in its place??or did i just loose 14grams of bud caus of this mishap.Live and learn,I wont be touching the new growth on the top like i was trying to see down into the top nodes.I will get a ph tester today to check the water and get it corrected,i had bought a cheap 4 in 1 for about 6 bucks,it sucks,dont waste your money on cheap testers,it's too important.So i will be getting a new and better one.I havent checked the ph at all caus of the one i have not working.These must have differnt pheno types,caus I have 2 that pretty much look they are my 2 biggest,and then I have 2 more that look the same which are thinner then the first 2,and then i have the last one which doesnt look anything like the 2 biggest.A bit more lighter in color,smaller,thiner leaves,not as many nodes.

You will be fine, don't worry, just watch your ph like a hawk, they don't like it in the low 5's.

i ordered a decent ph tester online.They are growing good the last few days,biggest is up to 7 1/2" the others are 6".Only that one has the twisted leaves.Today is day 28 of veg for me.I'm gonna go 1 more week and go to flower,ill be watching the rest of your grow,anticipating the flower stage next week.I put a humidifier in the tent,got the RH up from 10 to 29.And the temps in the day are 78 instead of 86.So that should at least help.Lots of nodes and bud sights,just short and bushy.Cant wait for them to stretch when the lights go 12/12

Grow, make sure that you have healthy new growth, and then give it another 4-5 days before you flip to 12/12. Good job getting the temps down, and the humidity up, the ladys will love you for it
