The winters make it all worth it, but right now it sucks, if I have it my way, I wont be doing a April 1 planting for next season in this hot environment. However, Im glad to say that I have come up with a magic number of 50. I am going to take 50 cuttings in two weeks, then I am going to let them root in plastic beer cups for 2 weeks, and then veg for another 3 to 4 weeks under flouros where finally I am going to transplant to 5 gal containers. They will veg in the sun during the day and under flouros at night for roughly October, November, and maybe even December, depending on how big and fast they grow. Once they are at the size Im happy with Im just going to leave them outside to flower, allowing for a nice bumper crop. The good news is that I just transplanted a bunch of very small clones, auto sprouts, and threw down about 300 seeds from a bagseed and a self breed auto seed collection into prepared planters. The planters are 4 large front end loader tires that have the centers cuts out, so Im expecting another but much smaller bumper crop of combined autos, bagseed, and clones from that project. Ofcourse the sun time is winding down daily but its still warm as all get out, so I think we will still see a little bit of veg in the regular photoperiod stuff and any extra flowers that can be generated for either smoke, hash product, or tincture will be just fine. With 200 or so auto seeds going into the 4 tires Im hoping for small seas of greens. I will journal that here too, but anyways between my current blackskull grow that is in early flower now, the tires and the January flower project with the 50 cuttings Im taking soon, we should be ok for flowers until the the next seasons big plants can get ground transplanted in April. I will have to wait until early next year to figure out how and what plant count to go with for sure, but I do know one thing, and that is, I want to grow some freaking monsters.
