How bout the fact that Obama was strongly against the use of contractors (blackwater and others) in iraq? now hes sending twice as many contractors as troops for this new surge? dont know the number but i beleive there will be more contractors in afghanistan than iraq now! he bashed the hell out of bush for his use of contractors! Like we dont remember! wow.......
He's just continuing bush's reign. Like i, and my others, have said... Presidents are just puppets. We haven't had an honest president since Kennedy, and look what happened to him. He attempts to put limits on the Federal Reserse.. and POW! Dead.

Don't fuck with the wealthy...

We could use these Blackwater guys to clean up the gang problem in California. Its obvious the state government isn't interested in doing the job.

Of course team Obama denies it, but there are multiple sources. If the New York Trash had some shit on a republican you'd me more than happy to accept their anonymous sources.

Of course it's true. You know damn well it's true. Obama is desperate. Today it comes out he said to a congressman, "Don't think we're not keeping score, brother." In fact it's hard to believe Obama "wouldn't" threaten Ben nelson with that base. Damn straight it's true!
Nelson himself says it's not true. Typical Glen Beck bs.

They're completely broke with 12.5% unemployment. But Schwarzenegger has a plan. he's going to spend his way out of it ...

and tack on some job killing global warming nonsense to boot.

Dreamworld ... and a bailout in the making. We should refuse when asked, and we will be asked.

I don't know about blackwater so much.
But I generaly like the idea of Mercs.
However I think they should be contracted to the host country.
Not to the occupieing army.
For example I think Iraq could hire Blackwater to train and advise.
As opposed to bringing in a foreign army for long term stays.

I think it was Liberia hired a group called executive outcomes.
A unit of a few hundred South Africans, black and white.
While the rebels in Liberia where running rampent.
Now these guys where said to be heart eating canibals, OK.
The Rebels had a nasty habit of lopping off bits of folks they didn't care for, see.
Executive outcomes trained a unit of Liberians and bought an old Russian helocopter.
They started taking towns and cities back from the rebels.
After a year or so the rebels where on the ropes.
They ended up being kicked out of the country because the President of Liberia wussed out to the UN.
The UN sent in 20,000 "peace keepers" and within a year the rebels where back running the country-side.
The leader of the Mercs was practicly in tears he said.
"If they would have let me keep 60 men in Liberia,
along with the unit of Liberians we trained,
We would have beaten the Rebels in six months."

As for them working for us, I don't care for it.
But we had no choice.
The military had to streamline.
They wanted to increase their teath to tail ratio.
That is, they wanted to reduce the amount of military personel involved in logistics and support
and increase the number of military personel in combat units.
I don't know how much money was saved if any though.

Who exactly is Blackwater providing security for, besides themselves, as they rape, pillage and murder citizens of the invaded host country (Iraq), in an eerily similar fashion to the conquerors of yore and the more recent imperialists? (They also rape & abuse fellow contactors...it's in their contract that if they are assaulted by one of their own, they have NO recourse. Several women and a few unfortunate men learned that the hard way. )

Blackwater answers to no one and is paid for by us. They suffer no consequences for acting outside of orders and they show little to no respect for our men and women fighting for the U.S. military. They impede diplomatic progress in a region in which diplomacy and "soft" support are our only tickets out of there.

If security has become a commodity--God help us all.

From what I infer from the constitution, security is a RIGHT--it is the umbrella over LIFE, LIBERTY and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS--for without security, those other "rights" could not be gauranteed. And they are.

Blackwater, or any contractors over there should only operate under the orders of and in respectful cooperation w miitary generals. But apparently that is too much red tape for these billion dollar contractors....

it's fucking sick....but i'm glad we are talking about it

You obviously don't know what a commodity is. A commodity is something that is needed and used in the production of something else. Sugar and cocoa are commodities needed to produce chocolate. Security is a commodity, a necessary ingredient, for any nation to be functional and carry on trade with the outside world. This is nothing new, it has always been that way.

The four primary commodities that flow in the functional worls are capital, energy, people and security. The parts of the world where they are prevented from flowing freely are precisely the parts where almost all the world's poverty and war are located, and not by accident. It has been said that where goods and services cross boarders, armies seldom do.

Do you guys know what a contractor is?

When the news says there are 100,000 contractors in Iraq.

Those aren't all blackwater/sercurity guys.

Most are just regular civilians from the U.S/international doing normal jobs.

For example in Camp Falluja the garbage men were eastern Europeon guys.

The chow hall was ran by Indian guys while philopino woman served the food. (best chow hall I have ever been to)

American civilians worked at the laundry place, the internet cafe, A/c repairman, truck drivers ect.

I saw actual security contractors like one time the whole time I was here.

Its a very dangerous job, security contractors are lightly armed and don't have the backup of the Us.Military (mortars, rockets, artillary, tanks, stuff like that. They don't have quick reaction forces or infantry companies to back them up. They are basically on their own, if shit hits the fan. hence the High Pay.

But they still need to be held accountable for their actions. Especially if there out there tryin to be some cowboy. Because there actions can hurt the militarizes mission, because Iraqi can't tell the difference between security contractors and military

You should read up about it....

Your thinking of Sierra Leone, where the executive outcomes basically took over for a dysfunctional government and fought rebels in exchange for diamonds. They didn't give two shit about people getting their hands hacked off, they were a bunch of racist south african thugs who were there to get to get rich, nothing more. There is a reason they no longer exists as a company. You can read up about it.

People fighting for profit has never led to anything good....

We have the best military in the world, so don't tell me we have no choice but to outsource logistics and security to private companies. Hell, we trained a lot of these guys as green berets, navy seals, force recon or what have you and now we're hiring them as private security contractors, while we have kbr charge us 400 bucks to deliver a gallon of fuel to a forward base? There's something really fucked up about all of this.

I don't think you really understand what's going on, but do I hope you care. You should inform yourself before forming an opinion. But that's just my opinion....

From what I gather then, ACORN is basically a domestic blackwater.
