Woke up with no fever still. That's good. Still feeling like warm garbage. That's no good. Called off work. Then for shits and grins, I pulled out an old covid test. The exp date was August 2022, but they all got a 12-15 month extension on their expiration dates so technically, it should just be a couple months expired. Anywho..... Its faint but its there. Oh yay!!20240102_084217.jpg

Thanks.
Fun fact: this is my first positive covid test. I am pretty sure I had it before it was a big thing though. Before there were tests. December 27th 2019. The little bastard nephew came up to me when I told him by on Christmas and as I went to give him a hug, he coughed in my face on purpose and just laughed. So I pushed him down. Not sure if it was just a sick kid passing on his germs or karma for pushing him, but 2 days later, mid afternoon, I started feeling bad and fast. It was the weirdest sickness I had ever had. Different symptom every day. Mid grade fever and absolute sheer exhaustion. That carried on for 7-10 days before wearing off. Then the cough. Oh, the cough. I had it for about a month. It was the end of February before I was feeling 95-100% again. That's when we started seeing covid in the news and it seemed they were putting out a new symptom every day or two. It was like they gave a play by play of my sickness. Luckily, I never lost my sense of taste or smell though. Anywho, hopefully this cough doesn't last and I can get back to work tomorrow. Im sure the boss isn't too happy I called off today.

I don't even know what the rules are anymore. Do you mask up and go to work? Take time off? I've had it twice. Asymptomatic once and minor symptoms the second time. The cold or whatever I caught in October hit me way harder and I think I picked up the flu to add to the cold and sinus infection. I did a bunch of rapid covid tests and they always came back negative. I've been back to normal for a couple weeks.

I hope this is quick run for you.

Quick Google said isolate for 5 days. I came down sick Friday night so I have been isolated 4 days now. Luckily, I'm usually the only one in the shop so it won't be hard to stay isolated out there. The boss usually spends all day "doing paper work and/or paying sales tax" lol so he is rarely out there. As soon as I show him the covid test, he'll probably try to get me to stay home all week. If I don't, I'm sure he will just stay out of the shop.
