It isn't really a viable purchase unless you grow a >substantial amount <of weed and want to make hash/hash rosin/etc. or are a survivalist-type. Or...yeah...yer old and retired and $ee that you can't take it with you. (checks box) I never tried drying bud with it. Not sure why you'd do it...but hey...folks do all sorts of shit in WeedLand.
I grow a modest amount. @curious2garden is using it for fast dry/cure with good results.

They would kill it to make a super small 1 or 2 tray unit. It takes a lot of bud to fill 2 trays with bubble hash. 4-5 trays is wayyyy overkill for most folks uses. IMO.

Interesting. How does that work for ya @curious2garden ??? Do you seal it up immediately or let it take on moisture again?

I'm thinking about it. They're currently offering no interest financing. No way I'd be allowed to drop $4,800 on a dryer.
That's the size I was eying up too bongsmilie

One more. Learned this song for my wife, and dropped it on her last night. I practiced for like an hour in the garden while she was sleeping. Took a long damn time to learn. Sounds simple, but the chord changes and shapes are very difficult.

It definitely paid off, that was 2am last night. My wife is still asleep.

I use a pick too. I'm not that fancy

All I've done is hash. LOL. It comes out very dry but in mere minutes it will start to absorb atmospheric moisture as it starts to warm.
I just let it happen....and it then arrives at a very taffy-like/bendable consistency. Still takes weeks to dry to where it will break easily.... but it stops the oxidation/etc and any threat of mold/etc.

As far as food...we've heard strawberries/other fruits are crazy good....and ice cream sandwiches. One of these days we'll give it a go. Just not where I need to go diet-wise right now/with sugars/etc...so it isn't a priority. Now hash....that's a priority.

So far it's the best dry/cure I've done. I'm amazed. It's different. But when the material comes out it smells the same as it did when it went in. I get no loss of smell. Even completely dry it isn't harsh and it burns perfectly. I've just crumbled it into the roller, bypassing my grinder which would powder it without moisture added back. With some added back it's smooth and tasty. I'm still learning as I've turned out flower that was too moist. It seems 13% is the sweet spot.

Here we go with the sample kit again. Sun never sets when there's work to be done

I think my wife hits about 13% when she leaves the jar open. LOL. Sounds interesting. Was just never on my radar since I smoke so little weed anymore.
My next challenge is trying to press some bubble into rosin. Done a lot of buds...but no hash yet. Yeah...I'm lazy...and the bubble is already damn good. Even so...folks say the terps increase and I'm all over that. Thanks for the info about the bud!

Since I am from Port arthur Texas, some say the alternate capitol of Louisiana, and have some Broussard in me I am making some genuine cajun shrimp and sausage gumbo.
We got your Andouille sausage, holy trinity, roux and okra, shrimp goes in last after it cooks for most of the day.

I pressed some live rosin and although I didn't get a lot (just testing) It was amazingly potent and extremely tasty. I got a strong, straight hit of vanilla flavor, amazingly tasty. Then I had to sit down for a few LOL
