70* today with rain tonight. it would be a perfect day for planting out the garden beds.
go ahead and ask how much soil is actually IN the beds. UGH i didn't get any garden chores done yesterday.
dad's still locked up. he's getting tested today for bladder cancer. the hits just keep comin'.
Sometimes gardening isn't enough of a distraction. Remember the 5 d's when life keeps throwing haymakers

Eeeyooowwwch... that was some heavy boo-boo. Gonna say 8". One of these years I'll get smart and buy some big ass toy to move this stuff...

LOL @ the Man-kini cartoon. Had a flashback to a recent picture my bro-sister-in-law sent from a cruise they recently went on. Let's just say there was far too much skin in the background and nope...it isn't the 70's anymore. Cured both the wife and I of ever wanting to go on a cruise...:o

We took pictures of a cruise ship while in Jamaica. Once home, I zoomed in, only to discover it was a hedonism cruise. Zero stars!

dad's still in the hospital. today is a swallow test - literally happening as i type. i'm back home, trying to keep myself occupied. if he fails the test, we'll have a family meeting as he has already said, multiple times, that he doesn't want a feeding tube.
so i'm stress-planting. filled up the newest raised bed with spinach and onions. sectioned off a small patch next to it for overflow onions. transplanted all the brassicas from their small cells into 4" pots. started new seeds including all the tomatoes, most of the flowers, more brassicas....and for :leaf: i'm hoping everything pops in the next few days: 3 chernobyl; 3 mephisto freebs (SODK x skystomper); 6 FdM Bubblegums from a breeder pack so those will be fun, hopefully.

staying stone cold sober until this family stuff settles a bit. hope everyone is having a good friday...
If you don’t mind I ask, at what age was he diagnosed?

good news!!!! he passed the test!!!! he can have soft foods and pureed foods!

thank you for all the well wishes, everyone. it's nice to have a little corner of the internet to share with.
we're still in the weeds with everything, but eating has become one of my dad's only comforts in the past few years (which i've read is not unusual for PD patients with very restricted mobility). so he can have this back - albeit modified - for the time being.
I’d practically kill to eat. Yes, cannabis helps a lot. I’d probably have starvation induced diabetes without it. Nonetheless, even with cannabis food is repulsive. Not sure if it’s the PD itself, or the pharmaceuticals. I digress, thank God for the bright moment in a life seemingly full of dark.

Has anyone watched the Road House reboot yet?

We watched the original last weekend and the remake this past weekend. When watching the original cinematic masterpiece that brought us great lines like "pain doesn't hurt", I couldn't help but wonder why TF are they remaking this abomination. I don't know how it's possible, but the remake was worse in every way. Jake Gyllenhaal couldn't even save it. Amazon Prime owes me a discount for watching that.

Lol. When I heard they were remaking it, I could not believe it. The original was such an awful movie, but I enjoyed it thoroughly back in the day, I've seen it about a dozen times. Hard to believe how young and goofy I once was. Swayze's blonde love interest was certainly hot, though, I never bothered to learn her name as I don't think she's ever been in another movie ;)

I saw the trailer, reminded me of some other bad movie I forgot.
Now I know why!
