We've had our vitamix blender for 20 years. They definitely make a great product.
I have one of the originals from 1976. But I hate the spigot they had in the side of the blending jar. When my Oster I use frequently finally dies (I bought a new blade for it and it stopped leaking) I'll get a new VitaMix.
It's just the base in new form they use for grinding kitchen scraps for compost bins that was intriguing
