How many watts? Nobody is catching me on my ebike... like a traffic ninja!

I got 45k in on Saturday. Passed two copsicles doing 45kph, they didn't give me a second look. The law in Ontario limits ebikes to 500W @ 48V LOL

1,500watts/48V and it will go about 35 mph., but I was only cruising about 18-20 mph, and the dog almost got me on a sharp corner with loose gravel, where I had to slow down to maybe 10-15 mph, but as soon as I was around the corner I gassed it and looked back and knew I was safe as I pulled away.

I can restrict the motor on the controller if I wanted...If

Got a walk in, went grocery shopping and got a couple decent looking steaks for dinner...Made deviled eggs. And making baked beans. Might not want to come near me later. My ex use to hate when I ate egg salad...I was known for toxic gas. :fire: Not so much any more though.

Those E bikes sound like a lot of fun. I'd love to get one for riding around the mountain but the ones with bigger power levels that can handle my weight are a little too pricy for me to commit. Hopefully the prices keep coming down as they sell more of them. I'd be trying to outrun bears instead of dogs sometimes so I want plenty of power like you have it sounds like.

@GreatwhiteNorth It was about last week that @Rsawr taught me what "less than 3" meant. My brain never computed what the characters actually were. Just that it looked like a heart. Then she was all like "neo , you're my hero. I can't live without you. And your cunning wit around here. Please don't go back to work. This place and me will fall apart. I can't bear it. Less than 3." And I was all like "damn girl what's that mean. Maybe on a cold frigid day but give me a little more credit than that." And she was like "no you sociopath, less than 3 means love" and I was like ooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
And I thought it was just me. Lol

Wish I could build you one…

I've got like 5 different power levels & 9 gears I can select from but a determined German Shepard might pose a challenge on acceleration given short notice.

do you carry a water bottle? Dogs hate getting squirted in the face.

Ours is limited to 45kph, when we first got it my partner disabled the limit, I didn’t feel safe riding it.

52v dual 1000w nominal (combined 3000w total peak) all wheel drive, home made beast

40mph (65kph) on a Walmart mountain bike makes my ass pucker a little, but she’s been reliable for 5000 miles so far.

Gone through maybe 15 sets of brake pads.

@FirstCavApache64 I built it, dual batteries, dual motors, for about $1600 all in.

Rim brakes?

I worry about how much skin you’ll lose at that speed.
No way, mechanical disc brakes. I would up the rotor size to 203mm, but they won’t fit with the frame I’m using.

I’ll build something state of the art eventually, but between the home brewed beast, and the 2000w moped style ebike, I have plenty to keep my hands full.

maybe next, something full suspension and mid drive. Maybe just another hub motor beast, something with better components, one that can hit 50mph (80kph)
