Deer flies evil cousin, the saltwater greenheads.
Like green bullets, they don't circle before biting usually.
Once they get your scent, they lock on to you.
You can wipe your sweat on someone else, then they go for them instead, lol.

We get those at the beach when the wind is coming off the Bay side. Nasty little bastards. I'm more worried about ticks and Lyme disease now as I've seen several friends that spend a lot of time outdoors have to deal with really serious reactions to it. We went as kids in the 70s and I still remember how great it was for a kid. Much cheaper and way less crowded back then. Hope she has an awesome time and take a loan out for all the stuff she's going to want lol.

And yeah, both grandmothers will be there. Unfortunately both grandfathers died recently… her moms dad died early last year, and my dad passed this last September

Back to sanding today. Sanded again at 80grit after the water pop. The wet it again, let it sit for 3 hours, sanded at 120grit, routed the edges, sanded routed edges, wet it again, now the desktop is drying again before applying the grain filler. Then sanding up to 380grit tomorrow. I may actually get the first coat of finish on before we leave for New York. So in about a week and a half I'll have my desktop finished hopefully almost as smooth as a guitar top.
