blood meal for nitrogen?

i have advanced nutes coming on dec. first but i have a nitrogen deficiency now. how about blood meal and how much to use ? do i put it in the soil or in the water? any other options i'm open to idea's.

I think my blood meal says 1 tsp for a metric yard of soil.

do you mix it in the soil or water? how much per gallon? thanks
