Bloombox To buy or Not to buy

Hey guys im new to this forum and i like this forum compared to other forums because here there is more information for noobs like me, but to get to the point i found a bloom box on craigslist and was hoping you guys can tell me if its a worthy investment, the reason i want to invest in one is because of its stealth and its a plug and play. I don't have time or the tools to build my own cabinet, but ok here is the info given on fb

I brought the price down to 1350 from 1600.
i had some questions for the owner and this is his answer.

1.there is nothing wrong with the box.... i actually customized it and improved it
2. yes he still has everything it came with
3.ventilation is good after he rigged it with panda film so i can leave the door open when lights are on
4.it is also rigged with a scrog grow system
5.he also upgraded the light system from a 400hps to a 600hps with an electronic ballst.
6.with doors closed there is a heat problem but the way he fixed it is with a panda film over the door with a hole in it so very little light comes thru and you can stick a vornado fan in it.
7.as for smell he told me he uses a charcoal filter that he hook up to the exahust which causes no smell


That is all i could find as of now. Do you think this is worth it ? is there any other questions i should be asking him?

If u don't mind buying a few things separately I can make u a nice list of things to buy ..you'll save tons of money and be watt more satisfied ..

x2, dont do it.....much cheaper to source everything seperatly.

Don't buy it! Unless you have the money and just want to buy something fancy!

Look at my first grow box... I did all this with a 18v drill set. LOL


All built for less than $100 and I was able to get to know a little more about growing in the process. It was a ton of fun! I could have yielded better but found that I COULD do it on the cheap if I really wanted to.

Seems like you are looking for the all in one solution though so I hope that you can find something suitable. You should be able to piece together a good system for less than what he is asking. Either way I personally wouldn't invest in that box.

Don't buy it if you have the skillset to put together IKEA furniture you can get a tent, lamp and ballast and your pretty much set up.

Choose your growing style and medium and you'll be in for about 600 dollars, I will leave nutrients to you or others.

Hey guys thanks for the replies, but my problem with building is stealth. i dont want my grow to be out freely in the house. My family wouldnt like that haha. I mean a brand new box is 3500 +shipping he is willing to let it go for 1350.
If there was no option in building your own would you guys buy this box?

I was going to get the complete bloombox set for the same stealth reasoning, if you have a spare room in the basement basement that will do.

If there is no extra room around the bloombox is a good option but not if you have to keep the door open to disipate heat! If your not going for ultimate stealth the tent will be better, probably better than having to keep the door open.

Hey thanks for the reply! you are absolutely right i have no room to build my own grow room, and the bloom box is the only way and you are right if the doors are gonna have to be open why not just build a tent? But he said the panda film will cover all the light

Best opinion I can give you is to have the guy plug it and see for yourself! I have had a small tent set up (4' x 4') that can produce 1/4 lbs - 1/2 lbs and have almost no smell or light exposure throughout the grow and total cost was about 600 bucks. I like most of the bloom box except for it's restrictive height, you'll get better quality and quantity of product from a 7' grow space compared to the bloom box, management is so much easier. It's very easy to do DWC in a 4' x 4' tent, I have friends with little to no growing experience start with 4 clones and harvest 1/2 lbs, it really does grow itself. If it is stealthy enough for you with the panda film and it's worthy of your investment then go for it. regards,

I've had BCNL BBox for over a year now and if stealth and simplicity is what you're after and it's your priority then this box will be right up your alley. I paid full pop, bought the extra Nutes & dryer as I live out in the boonies along way from the city and don't get the opportunity to go to a Hydro store very often. For the price you can get it for you can't really go wrong. If you're the DIY type and you have time then it is expensive, but if you're like me and you're too busy and your time and space is very valuable then what you can get it for is dirt cheap.

Alot of what you hear about them is user error from my experience, and my experience is with the unit, not reposting what I've heard 2nd hand. I was a newbie when I bought mine and I'm no expert, but I've made many mistakes and every cycle gets better then the last. The thing with hydro is it doesn't give you much warning, it has to be attended too as it's not very forgiving like dirt. This is not a plug and play unit, you have to put in a lot of time to begin with. Having said that I'm off to attend to some cones and a few Qrazy Train seeds I popped last week.

Is that 1/4 to 1/2 pound per plant or in the whole tent?

Usually 4 plants produce 1/2lbs+

Last harvest was OG Kush, 4 plants, 2 weeks veg, 9 weeks flower, AN 3 part, overdrive flower booster and there was 9oz bud, 34g bud/trim for oil.

I checked out the box and actually bought it for 1200!
People said it was noisy but he replaced the air pump that was noisy
Just ordered my seeds and now waiting for it
Tommrow ill be cleaning the box with alcohol
cant wait for the seeds !

Ok i think ima just start a thread on this post when everything is set and running wont be for a while !
until im done cleaning the machine, getting the seeds, and moving out to my new place !

As you did.. I as well just found a score on a Bcnl bloombox on craigslist.. how has yours worked out for you?
