Hahaha SSN is social security number for US ( i keep forgetting your in the UK, sorry ) and it was a joke along with religion.

but you may need a better soil. If it's just like organic compost, it may be the reasons your seeds aren't getting off the ground the way they should. Organic compost has lots of mirco organisms in it that are bad for seedlings and developing roots. takes a much older, established plant for compost to really shine its benefits. Try like 1 part compost, 1 part vermiculite, and 1 part perlite. Should make it substantially better.

You may have also nuked your seedlings if you put them to close to the light. For just breaking the surface of the soil, and getting them to their first real set of leaves, I'd leave them at about 4 inches. It doesn't over stress them, but it give them enough of the light they need to begin their ever-so-important journey.

Listing the specifics on your grow will help alot. Then we'll be able to really see what you're dealing with

yh as ive said b4 i dno wer to get that stuff for soil unless its in homebase or something, no hydro stores or anything like that where i live.

well shoot man, it's like trying to get laid without bringing the lady. (+rep to anyone who can name the movie i just quoted that from)
l0l for the sake of the plant, you might want to hold off until you can get the rest of your supplies. I tried growing once the second I had a light and a seed... turned out to be a major disaster. There's no reason to rush anything, Mary Jane will still be around long after we're gone.

You don't wanna chance it if you can't get your odor control, under control.

yh but can i use charcoal instead of carbon, isnt it essentialy the same thing?

As far as i know, activated carbon is charcoal that is heated, but i dont know to what temperature, or for how long. Buy fish filters, buy britta water filters. you can buy britta filter cartridges ANYWHERE. if not buy activated carbon on ebay for pennies.

I don't know there are a few finer points. Like there's carbon, then there's activated carbon, which is what you need... and blah blah. I'm not sure.
Charcoal is practically the same thing, but as far as it's odor neutralizing properties you'll have to google it because i'm not sure.

You aren't the first person with the idea, so i'm sure a few seconds of typing should lead you to the information you need on charcoal.

As far as soil goes, before I could really go out and afford better materials (i'm not saying that's you, i'm just saying for the sake of it) I used soil I found near my house. There was this massive 60-70 foot tree the burnt down in the middle of a corn field. Next spring there was plant life all over the place. Huge towering bushes and what not. That soil was practically a naturally made potting soil... always keep your eyes open, it'll surprise you what you find.

Wouldnt recomend using soil from outside, contains paracites and unknown variables like cat piss and engine oil.

they grew alot last night, im hopin 2 get my leaves very soon, still dno bout the charcoal, might put baking soda in a tin, would that work?

something is not kosher here.how old are those sprouts?they havent progressed very much under the conditions you are growing them.i just germed 4 MANDALA "GANESH"seeds 3days ago.they are almost 2" tall .not droppin names or jokin on your setup but it sounds like something is up with those seeds or temps are too high or low or something, man im high i dont know shit.good luck brother.

The carbon needs to be attached over your fans that way your exhaust fan will pull the air through the carbon filters. You can't just put carbon in there and expect it to work. Look at some DIY carbon filters on this site. There's plenty of good ideas. I personally use like dryer sheets, 2 thick, then just fold it over and make pockets out of them. Staple it all together, fill with carbon, and duct tape securely over the fans. Works like a charm!

might do that, will throwin some carbon round the case do any good, i might germ another seed soon as i will be selling another 2 of the plants, do u guys think i could do this year round, germ a seed evry 2 weeks or sutin, how do i get the drive bay out, its really really anoyin me, can i just cut it or sutin, i have quite a while for this grow as im just doin my A levels and theyr easy as shit, will put some more pics up soon.
