blue dream, purple trichome! day 65 pics of trichomes, is she done yet?

ok so today is day 65 and i took some pics of the trichomes and wanna get people opinion if she looks done yet! so let me know.

also see the trichome that has purple goin threw it, wtf is that and has anyone seen it before?

The purple is cool, not sure what caused it unless your temps have dropped. Otherwise Ii'm seeing alot of clear trichs there. I know there are a few ambers but they look like they could be amber from damage. I'd be inclined to say it has another week, maybe more I've never grown blue dream to reference from. I shoot for as close to 100% cloudy as possible, a few clear or a few amber won't make a differance but as much cloudy as possible is gonna give you peak THC content.

Id say shes done, would like to see a pic of the plant itself, but I see plenty amber, and some beginning to turn amber, and many of the Trich heads gone In a few pics. She looks done, the longer you wait, yes more of your clear trichs cloudy up, but more of your cloudy trichs degrade by then as well. you have a good balance of clear cloudy and amber now, which is what I prefer,

I concur , when you think its done wait another week ! And often another weeks wait will reward those with patience ..

Nice colors by the way , I have seen terps turn purple and pink strain dependent and as mentioned temps play a factor as well .....Peace Out

I would possibly go another 5-7 days. If you have multiple Blue Dreams, pull one now, and compare it to one you will pull in a week or so. That purple is crazy, never seen that. How long have you flowered her for? I too am growing a blue dream, I would love to see some pics of the whole plant. Mines still veggin, otherwise I'd post a pic.

BTW, what camera/lens are you using for those pics? I have a Canon DSLR and would love to get some trich pics.

yea that looks done bro. you can see some of the trichomes are amber colored, thats when you know its ready

Yeah I agree with Mr.Marijuana420,you have alot of heads missing or damaged.I see some amber,but as always depends on what you like.Some more pics would be good

Today is day 67 in flower, middle of week 10! The cam i am using us my iphone with a iphone case and 60x-100x microscope that screws on to the case, pretty cool and only cost 10 bucks! Can u please explain why some of the trichomes could be damaged?? I nor anyone else has touched any of the colas cause i heard that damages them and it never got hotter then 85 in the tent! The light has been about 14-20 inches above the plant at all times, air cooled light aswell! Ill post new pics of the whole plant tomorrow along with more trich pics! Thanks for all the feedback!

They may not be damaged I simply stated that as a possible reason it seemed like there were some ambers but lots of clears and only some cloudies. If they havn't been touched at all or moved around and bumped into they may just be amber trichs, but even plants moving in the fans can bump into each other and damage a few trichs here and there.

What actual breeder are the seeds from, or what cut is it? I ask because in searching a bit I found that most of the info says 10 weeks (obviously indeal), but a saw a couple that said 9. Yours might be a bit more sativa and take 11 its tough to say. Sooo now you've got a few options......

cut the whole thing now...

cut the top colas and let the rest go another week or so to bulk up and mature more....

leave the whole thing another week or so to let the trichs cloud up and mature....

Personally I highly doubt you could tell the difference between any of the options once its dried and cured. You might be able to tell with lab testing that one of them produced a stronger result, but I highly doubt you'd tell a difference in smoke. I've done experiments pulling things a few days or a few weeks apart and I personally think once they reach maturity that the harvest window is much broader then some would lead you to believe.

Wouldn't harvesting the colas shock the plant? I've thought about doing exactly what you recommended, but was afraid it would not do much, as the girl would be shocked, therefore not really putting on much more weight. Just my opinion, I would love someone to clarify that for me if possible.

It was a clone, i heard blue dream only comes as a clone and not a seed, im not sure exactly what breeder it came from, i got it from a medical dispensary in central cali and all i knew was it is blue dream! If u sawy actual pictures of the plant i have no lower nugs, its all top colas so bo use cutting any and leaving some, id rather just cut the whole plant, i think ima leave it for another 5 days or so

There are breeders now that are selling seeds of it. If you have the clone only version of it what I found said 10 weeks with ideal conditions. Again it could still take longer for any number of reasons. I'm also not trying to talk you into one thing or another just offering info and some options. Sounds like a good plan with the few more days and cutting the whole thing. That is what I personally would do.

With regards to splitting the harvest and stress, I've never actually done a split harvest like that, but have read very good results from reputable growers. Its not a new technique. I think it would likely incure some stress, and perhaps you would leave the bottom half for 2 weeks instead of one. The idea is just to allow the lower half of the plant to mature a bit more, when usually it isn't as far along as the tops.

Never harvested before, but am growing blue dream. Is photo #15 a good example of amber trichs? All the others appear clear to me. I'm just trying to learn what they each look like. You can see if on websites when they show perfect clears, cloudys, and ambers, but in real life it's hard for a newb like me.

The way i was taught...

Mostly Cloudy = More energetic peak THC
30-50% Amber = THC is waining and more burnout high

Hear ya go bud 1 blue dream taking up half of a 4x8 tent in a 5 gal fabric pot of 70/30 coco watered 1x per day since birth, she had 7 weeks exactly of veg time from seed no topping or fimming just lst and very methodical defoliation early in veg threw out flower...never pushed past 650ppms in veg and topped out at 850ppms in first 3 weeks of 12/12 them back down to 700-750ppms (.5) she’s coming down this week at some point pic is from 6.5-7week into 12/12...also I’ll note that I use ro water as base with 200ppm cal mag and all of my ilgm blue dreams suffered horrible cal mag deficiency so I bumped them up to 300ppm cal mag and they started growing again after a 2 week bounce back...I’m thinking she’s going to pull 8-10oz cured what do you think?
