u would think this being a growing site and most growers use ph pens and ppm meters poeple would be intersted in new technologies such as the blue lab combo pen..... but apprently not
Well the pen does sound cool but have never used it. Im in the market for one lets get some answers.

yea im in the same positition so far im leaning towards investing that extra 20-30 bucks to get the blue lab pen plus they have some really neat insructional videos on youtube on proper use of this combo pen, check it ou if ur intrested youtube: bluelab combo meter :)

But the best would be someone with personal experiance wwith both trimeter and this combo meter as im sure there are pros and cons

For what it's worth I have a bluelab truncheon meter and love it. I like the way it works and it has been a durable unit . AND that means everything to me., never a problem,,, Without any other knowledge beforehand I would order the bluelab combo @ $200. hands down....my 2 cents only...no real experience with the piece you want , I can just tell ya the truncheon is a decent built, long lasting piece.

C'mon peeps........Who owns some of these things??? Can you help us out??

OR,,,,,,,are they all about the same????

rock on & Merry Christmas

The blue labs combo meter is the shit. I'm sure the guardian is just as good if not better, but I went with the combo meter because I use it for everything pool, garden, reef aquarium. Even if I only used it for hydroponics I use DWC and have to go bucket to bucket so I still wouldn't of got a guardian. I have the blue lab truncheon also because when I started I went the strips and drops route, then I said Fuck strips and drops for ph and got the combo. As cool as the truncheon is the combo is way better and gets me done with my work faster. The truncheon collects dust, I only use it to stir some times and double check the combo to make sure it's accurate.

Things to add. PH is more important then ppm. Once you get the hang of your nutes you don't even need that nute button . The PH part of the combo meter stays VERY accurate. Just to give you an idea I just calibrated my almost 1 year old ph probe. Scrubbed it with a toothbrush, warm water and soap. Rinsed it off. Stuck it in ph 7 solution and it read 7.0.Calibrated. Stuck it in ph 4 solution and it read 4.0. Calibrated. It didn't even need to be calibrated and the last time i did it was 3 months ago. This was the fourth time in it's year life I have calibrated it and it has never been more then .1 off. I store the probes in a pitcher of 5.0ph room temp tap water. The nute probes contacts just needs to be wiped with a wet paper towel before you use it to be most accurate. Even if let it get a little dirty it's only off by 10-30ppm, only takes 5 secs to wipe. The nute probe also reads temp and it is also accurate enough but I own thermometers that read to .1F. Go get a combo or guardian or a DOSETRONIC NOW!!!!!

go with the blue labs guardian it has temp/ppm/ph where the combo just has ppm/ph
I use three blue lab units 1 guardian and a combo and a ppm pen treunchion and there
all spot on bad ass units.

Both read temp and besides the portability of the combo meter another advantage it has is a 5 year warranty vs the guardians 2 year.

I would rather see all three sets of numbers from a distance, plus the guardian plugs into the wall.
either way Ive got them both and not having to push buttons is cool!
