Good Morning. This is the 2nd (cheap) ph pen I've bought. I've calibrated correctly a few times. Still seem fucked. I threw one in the trash. Now the other seems way off. I'm using the drops for now to be sure. Anyhow, I got paid today. What is the best P.H. tester? I will spend 100 or more if a good one. Dont want too. Lol. But I will, to get correct readings. Thx. For the advice.

Drops, they never need calibrated lol.Cheap too.If your mixing its the same every time so the drops work.Even in hydro they work just fine.
Yea, I do like the drops. & I dont really mind the process. I enjoy it. So I'll keep using the drops. Although I would like to own a decent pen. IF they are not garbage.

I love my Bluelab. I bought this 11/2015 and it's still working GREAT.

I don't find the drops to be accurate enough for my hydro grow or flexible enough but that's my personal experience ymmv. I put my pen in my res and can track titrating the acid. If drops work for you great.

I went w the apera over the blue lab. I check the calibration every couple days but it never moves more than .1. Seems to be working way better and more reliably than the 30 dollar one I bought for my first grow. Which still works but I didn’t store it correctly so it sat dry for 4 years! Still turns on an measures but it’s off and would need a new probe.

Are you doing hydro? Do you have reservoirs that you need to monitor? If your just mixing nutes to hand water in soil then the drops are fine. If you're maintaining a reservoir then a pH pen makes things quicker and easier but the drops will still work. I used the drops for years. But my eyes are not what they used to be for comparing colors so I use a Bluelab for the rare occasions I check pH.

Yes, soil. The drops have been working great. I was just looking into a decent pen for the future as well. Thx.

If your adding salts to soil then why bother. My tap water is 7-7.2 after adding fertilizer it drops so I just leave it.
