Hey elzorrothe fox, fellow BMO user, however organic soil mix and not hydro, but I believe I can help. I start feeding around week 3-4 at half strength with one dose per week . Half strength is one tablespoon per gallon of water. So to carry over that logic it would be 30 tablespoons or 25ml x 30 for tank. I use SPT (super plant tonic once a week), and slowly start mixing stronger as the weeks go by. But my main suggestion would be to message ohsogreen and He will give u a definitive answer on this subject because not only is he very giving in this community, he's a hydro guy as well ( I believe) but knows more on the subject of BMO than anyone else, bar none. I personally have never had any problems using BMO and I really at this point couldn't see using anything else!! Organic does make a difference, as u well may know. Anyways, good luck and holla at me if I help in any way, even if it just pointing in the right direction>... Happy farming and I quote Ohso, "slow and steady wins the race." Thanks for your advice. I noticed ohso made the recommendation of halving the strength of the nutes for hydro earlier in the thread. I just felt that 30 gallons times half strength is still a LOT of nutes, they may not burn but it increases cost. My logic: since the nutes are recirculating in my r-dwc, and because IMO hydro provides much better access to nutes I may actually go 1/4 strength to start and work up off of a baseline ppm reading
Think there will be some trial and error here since BMO is not as widely used as other nutes, gotta start somewhere!

That's the thing with some hydro systems, they may require a large amount of water as opposed to soil, so you need that much more nutes too. But in all fairness, it's just a fraction of a tablespoon per gallon, that's really not much.

I believe I've heard some say that you can grow at half strength (probably an indoor efficient compact grow), but I would imagine they use "special plant tonic" which claims that the roots get so efficient that you can cut the fertilizer amount in half!

Maybe you can include SPT for a while to reduce percentages, and also lower them because your using hydro.

You might want to start out using 1/4 strength, then work your way up to 1/2 strength as they mature.

do a case study
Suggest separating half the plants to half strength rate which is adjusted for hydro. Then put the other plants on say 30% less nutes & supplements to see which rate works better. That should be the only change in the grow, and the change should be consistent throughout the observation period, like from start till bud, and from bud till harvest. May the better rate win!


Anyone know how early/young one can start using Super Plant Tonic? And what is the amount suggested? I'll be searching for answers too. thnx
 
A bump and a question. Anyone have any idea on their shipping times? I know it says in the auctions it takes up to two days to process the order but just says "varies" for shipping. I'm having to feed chemical stuff a friend of mine has at the moment, tis killing me. Of course I will be needing to transplant soon so I'll just water it really well without overdoing it and maybe give some SPT during that.

shipping usually takes about a week or so from when I order...I'm in the central east coast...
 
So I use a soiless mix http://royalgoldcoco.com/basement_mix.html
On the feed directions it for the BMO it has two different schedules one for soil and one for hydroponics. My Question is do I treat this soiless mix as soil or hydro?? I have heard nothing but great things about this BMO. My pay pal account is all f-ed up. Need to fix so I can get my hands on this line.

Coco and other soil-less mediums should be treated as hydro.

Hey thanks a lot Jerry. I just placed my order for the full line of BMO and it should be in next week. Ill let everyone know when it does come in and how it works since I will be like a fat kid that just got a big piece of cake.:mrgreen::mrgreen:

It says not to us with chorlinated water, I will assume that the chlorine would have some negative effects on the living organisms. Any idea if its an absolute necessity?
 
I'm going to be vegging 4 Blue Dream clones in a coco/perlite mix in 7G pots under a 1000W MH colosseum style to ~2ft and flower under a 1000W HPS to ~6ft. The veg light cycle will be 24/0. The flower light cycle will be 14/10-12/12. I want to be able to feed at least once a day. Which coco/perlite ratio would be best for at least once a day feed/water? What would be a good baseline feed schedule for this type of setup with BMO nutes? I was thinking a 15% strength and gradually scale up but I'm worried about burning them. Any help is greatly appreciated.

hmm I am not the smartest guy on this site but do think that feeding once a day is to much even if you are starting out at 15%
If you are worried about nute burn then why feed everyday?? The SPT specifically says do not use more than once a week....

Yes I do. From what I hear the BMO line is low on Mag (some one correct me if I am wrong) I hear people use a cal/mag plus. I use flora nova grow along with GIG and FH.
Once I start to flower I will be using AN bloom parts A&B SPT and flower power from Blue Mountain Organics

bmo doesn't work in coco. go with coco specific nutes
 
I had some issues with mag shortage using BMO Grow it Green in the Veg phase. No need to go out of your way for cal-mag. You can buy some epsom salt and pulverised dolomite lime at walmart for super cheap. 1 tsp epsom salt and 1/4 tsp lime per 2 gallon H20 is sufficient.
 
I have some...sediment? forming in the bottoms of my bmo bottles. I shook all the bottles up...the flower power turned black, the others didn't seem to affected as far as color goes. Is this normal? Any ideas? I've had the caps unscrewed as advised via BMO. The sediment{or whatever it may be} have since settled again. Any ideas?
