Greetings! :-P

Long time smoker, first time grower!
Long time lurker, first time poster!

Apologies if this question irritates anyone, i've been researching for days about what light to get for my 2x week-old sproutlings (only a few inches tall) and can't quite decide.

Grow area is 3ft by 1.8ft (5.4 square feet or 1.6sq m).

Currently they have two sources of light: the sun (when it's sunny) and 2x small cfl lights, each providing 600 lumens each (pathetic, I know. Hey, first ever grow:lol:).

ANYhoo.. if I were to go the CFL route (as opposed to HID lights), would the light in the below link be "decent" in terms of getting a "decent" yield?

^ which equates to about $55 US dollars.

Is that priced a bit too high?
Does it look like a decent light, if ones trying to save money? and only looking to yield a few ounces or so?

Thanks for reading (and answering),
I feel a bit like a kid asking his dad about shaving :bigjoint:

Anyhoo, any helps appreciated, Peace all, one love, keep smoking:leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf:

You might as well just find a 250 w hps or a small H.I.D. and you won't regret it. They don't put out too much heat to where you can't fight it. Just keep it cool with a circulation fan.

I'd say go with CFLs for your first grow. While they're less efficient than HIDs, CFLs are a lot easier to find and run and are much cheaper. That way you can gather some decent growing experience for much less and fine-tune your set-up as you progress! Happy growing:)
