Blueberry Grow Blog

Okay, I'm a rookie grower and this is my first legit grow. I've decided that I would post daily updates as my plant grows into a beautiful lady. I'll list what I'm working with so you can get a good idea what will come to be.

I'm using a T5 216w grow lamp with 4, 64k bulbs. light schedule is 18/6 and I'm not using any nutes as they are not quite old enough yet. Right now I have no way of telling the room temp or humidity, but I would say that the temp is in the upper 70's. 75-80 to be more specific. Again, not sure about humidity level. I have a fan blowing towards the light itself. The plant catches some of the wind as it circulates. I'm growing in soil (Fox Farm Ocean Forest Mix) with a ph of 5.7-6.0. If anyone is interested in riding with me on this journey, feel free to come back to this post daily. Any advice would be appreciated.

The picture below is the most recent, I took it earlier today.

And get at least one thermometer / hygrometer. Guessing is no good. You can pick one up for the price of a couple of beers.

Good luck!

I'm waiting on some Blueberry beans... 2 months since buying.

Update for today: I forgot to mention yesterday that the picture above is day 7 of my grow. Today I noticed some leaf growth in the middle of the plant and towards the bottom as well. Other than that, nothing major to report. Let's see what tomorrow brings!

Update for today: A bit more leaf growth and that's about it, nothing really new. Also I've decided that instead of posting everyday, I will only post two times a week on Mondays and Fridays. So, if anyone is keeping up with this thread, I'll post an update this Monday, and then another on Friday. Here's the picture for today.

Update, 9/19/16: Okay, so I looked at my plant today and I'm seeing a lot of veg growth. The stem of the plant is starting to get thicker and it's looking very healthy in my opinion. I'm going to do some research on nutes for this particular strain, as it is supposedly picky when it comes to nutes. Also going to price thermometers and ph strips so I'll know what the actual ph and temp is. Possibly a fan that circulates as well. Here's the pic for today, I'll post another update Friday.

Update, 9/23/16: Haven't got around to getting nutes just yet. More veg growth and I've raised the plant closer to the light, it's a little over a foot away now. It's first leaves (cotyledons) are yellowing and will soon fall off, I imagine. Other than that, all is well. Another update Monday.

Update, 9/26/16: Posting late because I forgot that it's Monday. Like the last update, I'm seeing more veg growth. Starting to wonder if I'm getting closer to transplanting into a bigger pot. It isn't really growing as fast at it was, so I'm thinking it's running out of grow room for the roots? Also, I can see a few roots poking out from the bottom of the pot. Should I go ahead and transplant or just let it be for right now? Anyway, here's the pic for today.

Update, 9/30/16: So, I transplanted into a bigger pot and I've started using Miracle Grow all purpose plant food, I know it's not the best for cannabis, but it's all I got right now. It says to use a tablespoon for every gallon of water, but I only use half the dose (1.5 teaspoon). It's doing a pretty good job so far, no burns, or anything. More veg growth as usual.

Update, 10/7/16: Decided I would just post once a week on Fridays. Noticed I have a minor Nitrogen def and I'm working on fixing that. Also I think it's starting to show it's sex. On one of the nodes towards the top, there looks to be a tiny hair starting to grow. It's way to small for me to get a picture of it so I just got a picture of the entire plant. I noticed the tiny hair yesterday when I was inspecting it for any other problems (besides the Nitrogen def) and got so excited. there's another hair forming on one of the lower nodes as well, but it's basically microscopic. I have pretty good eyes so I notice the most subtle changes I guess. Anyway, I'll post another update next Friday.

Update, 10/14/16: Well, the plant is almost a foot in length now. I have the Nitrogen problem under control now as I gave her an upped dose of nutes. There's hairs on just about every node now. I got my PH and moisture tester in so I don't have to worry about that anymore. If you look in the picture, my PH seems to be around 6.8 to 7.0. Update next Friday.

Update, 10/21/16: Forgot about it being Friday once again lol. So, I flipped her to 12/12 5 days ago. She was just under a foot in length, but now she's measuring in a 17"! It's like she grows an inch or two during the dark cycle. You can clearly see the hairs now. I know my yield will be low, but yield wasn't really the reason I started this. I wanted to get a grow under my belt before getting serious about it. Now it's just a waiting game I suppose. Can't wait to see actual buds on this thing.
